It is the penultimate week of wrestling for 2010 and we had a few special treats for the fans from Ring of Honor, World Wrestling Entertainment, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Ring of Honor gave its fan a show long Holiday Gauntlet Match. World Wrestling Entertainment gave its fans a live episode of Smackdown on Tuesday night.

A number of records were set this week. While next week might have a dearth of wrestling because of the week between Christmas and New Year’s, this week had the most wrestling between the six shows with almost three hours of wrestling on the ten hours of television this week. This broke the previous high mark from August when TNA gave us ‘The Whole F’n Show’ and almost sixty minutes of wrestling on its own.

With the most wrestling in terms of total time, we also saw the most matches over ten minutes with eight of the twenty-seven matches this week in double digits and none of those matches were on Ring of Honor which still has the most matches in this category. WWE Smackdown is catching up after having three matches qualify and they are now only three behind Ring of Honor.

This week also saw four shows with more than thirty minutes of wrestling for only the second time in the ten months that I have done this column. Joining the shows that are more than an hour, Ring of Honor tied WWE Smackdown for the most wrestling this week with thirty-eight minutes thanks to the eight man gauntlet match.

I was originally going to consider the Ring of Honor Holiday Gauntlet as a single match, but after consulting with the By The Numbers Rules Committee, the ruling was that since there was time between the matches of the gauntlet, it was in fact seven separate matches.

The wrestling times below cover the wrestling that takes place during the show so commercials are not included. All times are rounded to the closest minute (examples: a 4:23 match will be listed as 4 minutes while a 4:32 match will be listed as 5 minutes and anything under a minute is rounded up to a minute). If an episode of Impact has more than a minute of wrestling on Reaction, Impact is considered a three hour show.
