Based on statements made by Moore County District Attorney Maureen Kruger, the plea bargain current TNA Champion Jeff Hardy will be pleading guilty to is for one or more of the six charges being brought against him. The plea, which will take place on January 20, will involving a sentencing agreement between boths ides, but neither side will discuss it until after it goes before the judge. The expectation is that the trafficking charges will be dropped (something that would mandate prison time) based on statements by Kruger. So, it is possible Hardy will plead guilty as a first time drug offender and not serve any time and instead face some probation and fines.

If this turns out to be true, then the whole legal system is a joke.

He wouldn't be the first person of a certain degree of prominence to get lenient "sentencing" and avoid jail etc.

Legendary footballer Paul Gascoine recently was in court for his second drink driving offence of 2010, this one said to be 4 times over the limit. Got his liscence revoked and a suspended two year sentence.

I.e scott free unless he does the same offence within two years.

Different legal systems but both highly flawed.
