Cheryl Cole's mother has reportedly asked Derek Hough to find her daughter a safer Los Angeles home over fears that she could be attacked.
It was previously claimed that Cole had viewed and approved the £400,000 apartment, which she will apparently share with the dancer. However, The Sun reports that the Girls Aloud star's mother Joan Callaghan is worried about Cole's safety.
"Joan went crazy when she saw the pictures of the apartment block and the surrounding area," a source told the paper. "She was saying, 'Do they want to get my daughter killed?'"
Callaghan is said to want the pair to live in a gated complex.
"They have been on the lookout for a more secure property ever since it was revealed where they'd be living," the source added.
