JOAN Rivers is not happy with the fellows at FOX News!
The Hollywood funnywoman’s interview with the network was canceled after she described former Alaska governor Sarah Palin as “stupid and a threat” and blamed her for the Arizona shootings.
Rivers, 77, made her comments in an interview with TMZ in which she was asked whether Palin should be US president, and if she should be blamed for the recent attack on an Arizona congresswoman that left six people dead.
“I think Sarah Palin is an amazing woman. I think she represents everything strong a woman can be, and I think she should go someplace – to another planet — to show them, and get out of our face,” Rivers said.
“They’re right to blame Sarah for the shootings. Go look at her website. This woman is encouraging sandbaggers to reload … this woman is just stupid and a threat.”
Rivers claims that just after the interview with TMZ, her agent received a call canceling her appearance on Fox and Friends.
“We got called. So now we call it Fox and Former Friends. They said to our PR lady it was because of what we said about Miss Palin,” Rivers revealed.
Fox has however disputed Rivers’ account, claiming that “the volume of news topics” meant there was no room for her on the show, and that she should have been rescheduled but was mistakenly canceled.
In a statement to the New York Daily News, the FOX said that if “Joan doesn’t want to come on the morning program where she was invited to push her next project that’s no problem. We have plenty of people begging for a spot.”
Rivers has now fired back at FOX, claiming they’re just trying to make themselves look good.
“This is called damage control and they are out-and-out liars,” says Joan. “I would like to take a lie detector test. I think it would make great reality television. I wish our show, which is coming on the air now, I wish this was one of the episodes. Let’s get them in and on FOX let’s take a lie detector test.”
