According to a report by Dave Meltzer is now reporting that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge has been telling those close to him that he expects to leave WWE when his current contract expires in 2012.

I have gotten some mail asking me about a net rumor saying that Edge will leave the wrestling business when his contract expires in 2012. All I can tell you is that many people in the business who have made a lot of money definitely start thinking about easing up their schedule when they get to be his age. Edge is no different.
I have heard from a few people that the grind of being on the road after all these years isn't exactly something that he enjoys. I know he has told people close to him that he could definitely use a break after all the years he has worked, plus the injuries he has suffered and rehabbed.
But, I have also heard people for years say that they are leaving next year, in two years, etc. Then next year comes and they change their mind. The wrestling business is legendary for its retirements that end up being a break.
Will he leave the business next year? I can't say one way or the other. It wouldn't shock me to see him at least take some time off however. After all these years, he has earned it.
