I actually just thought of something.

What if they reason they put the belt on Eve is so they can debut Kong tonight on Raw, as a heel, and have her completely squash Eve and win the title? If they want to make her debut strong it'd make sense and there's gotta be a reason why they just abruptly put the title on Eve like that

Indeed it does seem a very strange and random move giving Eve the belt after months of minimal action and no build. Particularly when they announced a fatal four way it would have been ideal for Kong to come in and squash everyone.

Eve has improved a lot so could potentially carry off a storyline of "trying to defeat a giant" in the build to a rematch at EC after Kong crushes her on Raw.

I dunno though.
