- Ring Of Honor World Champion Roderick Strong was successful in his 4th title defense against El Generico at “SoCal Showdown II” last Friday in Los Angeles. Generico proved very resilient throughout the match and never gave up, much like in his war at “Final Battle 2010”. Strong grew increasingly frustrated that he could not keep Generico down and eventually resorted to illegal activity behind the referees’ back. This was the first time Strong has shown this kind of desperation since winning the title. Truth Martini was not at ringside for the 2nd time in Strong’s reign as he was allegedly “handling important life intervention responsibilities.” With Truth absent Strong had nobody to look to for advice but still managed to escape the match as the champion. Then Roderick literally escaped through the crowd when Davey Richards, Jay Briscoe, and Christopher Daniels ran him off post-match for making disrespectful comments toward them. Generico proved that he was completely capable of defeating Strong and is still high on the list of contenders based on the unfair advantages that Strong decided to partake in. Generico has his chance to regain his momentum as he has officially signed for Ring of Honor’s return to Dayton, OH on 2/25 and Chicago Ridge, IL on 2/26 for the “9th Anniversary Show” iPPV!

- With Homicide next in line for an ROH World Title shot at ROH’s “9th Anniversary Show” on 2/26, it will be interesting to see who will receive the following title shot at the winner of Strong/Homicide after February. ROH TV Champion Christopher Daniels recently pinned the champion in Richmond, VA in a Non-Title impromptu match sending him to the top of the ranks. Eddie Edwards has a locked in World Title shot in the future due to his “Survival of the Fittest 2010” victory. El Generico has a legitimate argument as to why he should receive another Title match. Davey Richards constantly proves to have all the tools to be World Champion but at the time being Davey has stated that he will tell ROH management when he is ready for a Title rematch. Until then Richards has a goal to master various fighting styles from around the world in order to be an ultimate fighting machine when his Championship rematch is signed. With all these top athletes in contention to the gold there is no shortage of future ROH Championship contenders.

- Also Last Friday in Los Angeles, Davey Richards defeated TJ Perkins in an unbelievable contest that is a must-see performance by Perkins who came very close to upsetting Richards. ROH officials have been highly impressed with the unique style of Perkins since he returned to ROH and hope to have him back again soon.

- Everybody is talking about the stellar ROH World TV Title match between Eddie Edwards and Christopher Daniels that aired last night on ROH on HDNet. The match embodied what Ring of Honor is all about! Speaking of Edwards, unfortunately he was unsuccessful on 1/29 at Korakuen Hall when he challenged GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion Kotaro Suzuki. Suzuki successfully defended his title for the first time in a nearly 30 minute match that Edwards came very close in. Edwards will return to the USA shortly and is ready for our Midwest return on 2/25 and 2/26.

- Truth Martini will also return by the side of the ROH Champion Roderick Strong on 2/25 in Dayton, OH and Chicago Ridge, IL on 2/26!

- Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin proved that they could defeat the ROH World Tag Team Champions Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli last Friday when Haas made Claudio tap to the Haas of Pain submission hold in a Non-Title rematch. The Kings of Wrestling were victorious in their first non-title bout with Haas and Benjamin in NYC when the KoW won after a questionable blow with a potentially loaded elbow pad. Haas & Benjamin have now evened up the number and go into the “9th Anniversary Show” with a huge victory on their resume. A win over the Briscoe Brothers live on iPPV would put them in immediate title contention.

- Speaking of Haas and Benjamin, we’re pleased to announce that both men will take part in a special Meet & Greet autograph session with the fans one hour prior to the upcoming events in Dayton, OH on February 25th and Chicago Ridge, IL on February 26th.
