First ever event at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. Even in a smaller venue the place was around only one half to two thirds full.
-Kane defeated Curt Hawkins, Trent Barreta, JTG, Chris Masters, Chavo Guerrero, Percy Watson, Drew Mcintyre, and members of The Corre Justin Gabriel, Ezekiel Jackson, and Heath Slater in a battle royal (probably the worst one I’ve ever seen) for a shot at the Intercontinental title. Kane and Drew McIntyre got the loudest reactions during their entrances.
-Dolph Ziggler comes out to cut a promo. He declares himself the uncrowned World Champion. He then goes to the basics by saying he hates everything about Canada. He then makes fun of the Toronto Maple Leafs and throws waffles in the ring. (this a reference to a Leafs fan who threw waffles on the ice during games earlier this NHL season)
-Natalya and Beth Phoenix defeated Layla and Kaitlyn. Basic match where Natalya got the “Ca-na-da!” chants going and Layla was being her usual scaredy-cat in the ring. Kaitlyn kept saying USA at random intervals to no reaction at all. Maybe she wasn't saying it loud enough or she should have chanted it.
-Alberto Del Rio comes out to a good reaction for a match and promo. He says Mexicans know that Canada is the best at hockey and at the winter Olympics. But then he says that to Mexicans, Canadians and Americans are pretty much the same. He also says that deep down, Canadians want to be Americans.
-Alberto Del Rio defeated Chris Masters. Chris Masters got no reaction for his entrance. I don’t think people recognized his music. He did get a good reaction when attempting the Masterlock though. ADR kept working his arm and defeated him with the arm bar.
-Kofi Kingston defeated Kane to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Kane used the chair after a ref bump but Kofi kicked out and this led to a Trouble in Paradise for the win.
-Intermission, Tony Chimel throws t-shirts to the audience. Also, whenever he said "Superstar" tonight, he sustained the part where his voice goes high.
-Jack Swagger comes out for a promo and a match. Nothing of note. He just made fun of Canada some more…
-Jack Swagger defeated Chavo Guerrero with the ankle lock.
-Tony Chimel advertises Elimination Chamber and Knucklehead. When Chimel mentioned Knucklehead the ref discretely made a yawning motion.
-Rey Mysterio defeated Wade Barrett with the 619 and splash. Rey got the second loudest pop of the night. Wade got a good reaction too. The Corre was at ring side. After the match the Corre tried to attack Mysterio but Super Rey overcame the odds and set up Jackson, Gabriel, and Slater for a triple 619. Barrett stops him though and as The Corre begins an attack we have a locker room clearout to save Rey. Chavo leads Rey to pose for the crowd.
-Edge defeated Dolph Ziggler in a Toronto Street Fight to retain the World Title. Edge got the loudest pop of the night. Ziggler was wearing a Leafs jersey with a red X taped on the logo. Edge took it off of him and choked him with it. They fought along the boards in the crowd. Back in the ring, Ziggler brought out a kendo stick but then Edge got a hockey stick. Edge hit Ziggler in the abdomen and also crotched Ziggler with the hockey stick. He also got some waffles and slapshot them at Ziggler. Edge ended up winning with a spear.
-Edge cuts a promo. He takes the red X off the Leafs jersey and puts the jersey on. He also ate one of the waffles that was on the ring mat. He said that in a perfect world, he’d like to end his career where it started, in Toronto, so he’s hoping for WrestleMania to come to Toronto soon. He then said he'll go for the cheap reaction and lead the crowd into a "Go Leafs Go!" chant.
