July 10, 2010 was an emotional day for everyone in the Combat Zone. For one man however, it was just a little more emotional. It was a day DEVON MOORE would never forget. First he paid tribute to his close friend and mentor, TRENT ACID. And then he forced his closest friend in the wrestling business into retirement. However, it was that day he shed his image of being a "scumbag."
September 5, 2010 CZW released a shocking video where EGOTISTICO FANTASTICO unmasked himself after claiming injustice in the Combat Zone. That video symbolized the end of a fan favorite masked luchadore and the beginning of the biggest EGO to ever grace a CZW ring, ROBERT ANTHONY.
Fast forward to February 12, 2011... It was a happy day for many in the Combat Zone. Moore shut the golden mouth of DRAKE YOUNGER and became the NEW #1 CONTENDER for the CZW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! Moore has been saying for weeks, its almost been prophetic, that he would become CZW World Champion in honor of Trent Acid. Now Devon Moore has that chance! Towards the end of the evening however, it was the biggest moment in the career of Robert Anthony as he finally won the CZW World Heavyweight Championship!
That was just a very abbreviated look at both men's journeys over the last few months here in CZW. As you can see, both men come from very different backgrounds and have been motivated by very different things, however what they both want is to be a top the Combat Zone! Anthony wants the top spot for selfish reasons, while Moore wants the top spot to honor a fallen friend. Both men's paths finally will cross on MARCH 12th at the ASYLUM ARENA in SOUTH PHILADELPHIA when CZW presents... STATUS UPDATE: FANTASTIC! However, only one man can claim the throne in CZW!
