It's do-over time.

Nearly three years after light heavyweight Houston Alexander (11-6) found himself pacing the octagon in confusion mere seconds after touching gloves with James Irvin (15-8), he'll get a second chance to right what went wrong so quickly.

Texas-based promotion Shark Fights has stepped up to put the two back together in the cage a second time in a featured bout at Shark Fights 14, which is slated for March 11 at Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock. Alexander announced the matchup late Thursday via his Twitter account.

Alexander first took on Irvin at UFC Fight Night 13 in April 2008 and was knocked out in eight seconds by a superman punch. Unaware that he had momentarily lost consciousness, he briefly protested the referee's stoppage before realizing what had happened.

He'll be looking to return the favor this time around and build on a two-fight win streak in regional competition. Alexander, a father of six, burst into the UFC in 2007 with back-to-back knockouts of Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara before a 1-4 skid forced his exit from the industry-leading promotion.

Irvin is also on the road back to glory after a loss this past August to Igor Pokrajac brought his UFC pink slip. His most recent fight at "Gladiator Challange: Young Guns 4" ended in controversy when he threw an illegal knee against Mike Crisman that brought a no contest. Prior to that, he was submitted in the first round by Jorge Oliveira at Tachi Palace Fights 7
