A couple of gigs over the weekend has brought me up to 48 gigs and 5 festivals since 2003 and I'm hopefully going to another on Sunday and one later in the month :)

Point being I figured why not make a thread for people to discuss what gigs they've been to, who they'd like to see, any festivals, upcoming gigs, favourite performers/shows etc.

Personally being at a good gig is one of my favourite things in the world so yeah,

Let the discussion commence.....

This is a sore spot for me, lol, because I've missed several awesome concerts that came here. Including Megadeth and Slayer. Just had no way of getting there. The place where concerts are held being like an hour away and since I don't drive, it kind of screws me over when I can't find a way to get there.

However, I have seen some, at least. My first was Motley Crue and after that I saw Ozzy with In This Moment opening for him and then Alice Cooper with Econoline Crush opening for him. All great shows.

How old are you dude may I ask?

I saw Alice Cooper last year was very impressed. Bit of a shame he played a couple of songs twice though.

Ozzy is on my list along with Motorhead who I need to see.

First ever concert was Velvet Revolver back in 2005, since that I've been to Guns N' Roses (twice), Arctic Monkeys, Bruce Springsteen, Airbourne, Megadeth, Judas Priest & Metallica!

No plans for any coming up, although Blink 182 & Foo Fighters are both on my list & are both playing the Oxegen Festival in Dublin, so needless to say I'm extremely tempted by that! The only other band on my list is The Doors, but for obvious reasons, I can't see that happening!

I'm 19, 20 next month. So yeah, probably should have my licence, if that's what you were wondering, but just never got around to it.

Some really nice looking gigs people have been too, thanks for the good responses :rockstar:

No no not implying that at all mate, only asking as I went to my first handful at 16 then had over a year without going to another for one reason or another but have managed to rack up a decent amount since . Can't drive either am just lucky that a little over an hour away is London so trains are fairly frequent like.

Basically no need to worry about missing a few so far as you're never too old to enjoy gigs. Hell my dads friend is well into his 50's and goes to at least one a week including the likes of Slayer and Lamb Of God :D

Anyone here play or do vocals out of interest?

I have two guitars, an electric and an acoustic, but I can't play either of 'em for shit, lol. I've always wanted to get myself a drum set, think I'd be better suited to those.

I wanna start learning guitar also but it'd just be as a past time thing and I don't have the patience in fairness :(

In other news Sonisphere Festival over here has announced their day splits.

Friday and Sunday look great but it seems like a pub crawl in town is in order for the Saturday :P

Two COMPLETELY different line-ups for Saturday and Sunday, completely different genres of music. Seems to be a good set-up though, so that most people won't have to go all three days, they can just go to whatever one they want, rather than having them mixed together more.

Sunday is definitely the most attractive one for me too and Friday, obviously. The only band I'd care to see on the Saturday one is The Mars Volta.

Yeah, I learned part of Smells Like Teen Spirit, haven't managed to whole song yet, but maybe if that's the case I'll stick with Nirvana songs, starting off.

Nirvana is a good shout stuff like Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple is another that's recommended for starters like.

My problem is I'll wanna learn Motorhead/Bodom and other stupidly fast shit and then get frustrated when I can't :P
