Combat Zone Wrestling officials announced on Friday the first match of Bracket A in Best of the Best X; Akuma vs. Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Jonathan Gresham. Today the CZW office released the first match of Bracket B; CZW’s Sami Callihan vs. IPW’s Jake Crist vs. CZW’s A.R. Fox!

Unlike many of the other men in this year’s Best of the Best, these three men are all looking to turn their Best of the Best success into career long successes. All three men are known in the locker rooms as men that have that “it factor,” however all three men haven’t seen the success that many believe they deserve.

For Jake Crist, it is the first time he has stepped inside the Combat Zone. However, Crist is much deserving of his spot in Best of the Best. Crist has competed in Insanity Pro Wrestling for most of his career as a Tag Team specialist with his brother Dave Crist. As part of Irish Airbourne, Crist has won the IPW Tag Team Championships on two occasions. Jake Crist also won the Super Junior Heavyweight Tournament IPW held in 2005. However, it has been a long time since Crist has seen the singles success he has wanted. He is now entering Best of the Best X looking to further his singles career further without his brother, Dave.

The next competitor, A.R. Fox, has been called by many people the future of the CZW Junior Heavyweight division since his debut in the Combat Zone. However, it took until the “Last Chance Qualifying Match” at Status Update: Fantastic to earn his spot in the tournament. Prior to that Fox had come off a Junior Heavyweight Championship loss to fellow Best of the Best competitor, Adam Cole, and a Qualifying Round loss to Jonathan Gresham. On Saturday April 9th, Fox has his chance to make all the predictions of greatness a reality when he steps into the ring.

While those two men haven’t seen the greatest successes, they haven’t seen the greatest failures either. Sami Callihan is man who has seen it all. Callihan has been in a few main events for CZW, including the last Best of the Best tournament! Callihan is coming into Best of the Best having already captured the Jeff Peterson Cup and the 16 Carat Gold Trophy. However, things are different here in Philadelphia for “The New Horror.” No matter how hard Callihan works, it seems as though the proverbial “golden ring” is always just out of reach for him inside the Combat Zone having lost both the last Best of the Best Tournament and chances at the CZW World Championship. Some are saying that this is Callihan’s year to finally reach the top of the mountain and become the face of Combat Zone Wrestling, but he has to win Best of the Best X first!

Three men will enter hoping to finally etch their name in stone among the greats in professional wrestling… But again only one man get have their dream live on into round two. Who will it be? Find out on April 9th at the Asylum Arena by purchasing tickets at the CZW Pro Shop or watching online via iPPV at HybridENT.tv .
