Jeff Buckley will collide with Shakespeare in a new musical, the Guardian reports. The Last Goodbye, helmed by director Alex Timbers (of the Broadway production Peter and the Starcatcher), is a contemporary reimagining of Romeo and Juliet set to Buckley's lyrics and music. "Lover, You Should Have Come Over" and "Eternal Life" are among the tracks featured in the show.

Casting has just begun, with a series of workshops set for early next year in New York. Buckley is also the subject of the upcoming film Greetings From Tim Buckley. The singer drowned on May 29th, 1997; he was 30.
