THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER 16 FINALE WEIGH-INS SET FOR DEC. 14 AT HARD ROCK LAS VEGAS

Weigh-ins for this week's The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale event are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 14, at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.
The proceedings take place at a special time of 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT local time), two hours earlier than is customary for the promotion, in order to wrap up prior to the live broadcast of UFC on FX 6, which airs later the same night.
Fans are invited to The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale weigh-ins, which are free to attend. Doors open for the event at 1 p.m. PT local time.
As with most The Ultimate Fighter Finale weigh-ins, the ceremony will not be preceded by a UFC Fight Club Q&A session, as is typical for UFC pay-per-view events.
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale features "TUF 16" head coach Roy Nelson (17-7 MMA, 4-3 UFC) facing Matt Mitrione (5-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC), who stepped in for an injured Shane Carwin (12-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC). Additionally, the card sees the conclusion of the "TUF 16" welterweight tournament, as Team Nelson's Colton Smith (3-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) meets Team Carwin's Mike Ricci (7-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale takes place Saturday, Dec. 15, also at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The card marks the UFC's first event at the venue since The Ultimate Fighter 4 Finale, which took place in November 2006.
