DENNIS SIVER VS. CUB SWANSON SET AS CO-MAIN EVENT OF UFC ON FUEL TV 7 IN LONDON

A featherweight matchup seemingly guaranteed to deliver fireworks will serve as the co-main event of February's UFC on FUEL TV 7 event as Dennis Siver (21-8 MMA, 10-5 UFC) faces Cub Swanson (18-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC).

UFC officials today announced the new matchup.

Featuring a championship bout between UFC interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao and top challenger Michael McDonald, UFC on FUEL TV 7 event takes place on Feb. 16 at London's Wembley Arena.

Siver earns a quick return booking after scoring a dominant decision win over Nam Phan at this past weekend's UFC on FOX 5 event. It was Siver's second fight at 145 pounds after debuting in the weightclass with an April decision victory over Diego Nunes.

The German striker is now 6-1 in his past seven UFC appearances and 10-2 in 12 total bouts since opening his octagon run in a 1-3 slump.

Meanwhile, Swanson brings an impressive three-fight win streak to the cage after earning knockout victories of Charles Oliveira, Ross Pearson and George Roop. That's the longest win streak since 2007 for the always-exciting Californian, who racked up three "Fight of the Night" wins while competing in the WEC and has pocketed "Knockout of the Night" bonuses in his past two UFC appearances.

While UFC officials did not discuss the significance of the bout in terms of rankings, the winner will certainly emerge as a top contender in the 145-pound division.

With the addition to the card, the UFC on FUEL TV 7 lineup now includes:

Renan Barao vs. Michael McDonald - for interim bantamweight title
Dennis Siver vs. Cub Swanson
Che Mills vs. Matthew Riddle
Terry Etim vs. Renee Forte
Danny Castillo vs. Paul Sass
Ulysses Gomez vs. Phil Harris
Vaughan Lee vs. Motonobu Tezuka
Josh Grispi vs. Andy Ogle
Cyrille Diabate vs. Jimi Manuwa
