"WWE Superstars clash year-round with championships, glory, and personal pride on the line. But only 25 rivalries can be considered the greatest in sports entertainment history. Now for the first time ever, WWE counts down the most intense rivalries of all time. With each segment narrated by a different WWE or mainstream personality, each rivalry takes on a life of its own as WWE fans get an inside, never-before-seen perspective on their favorite showdowns. From the grudges born from equal pursuit of a common goal to those where the animosity crosses personal boundaries, all the timeless conflicts in the history of WWE, WCW, NWA, ECW and more are presented. Featuring Cena vs Edge, Stone Cold vs Mr McMahon, Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat and many more, this controversial countdown is sure to be dissected and debated by fans of all eras. Plus, special features include over 5 hours of bonus matches highlighting the rivalries presented in the countdown."

Posted below is the official synopsis for the WWE Elimination Chamber DVD, which releases on March 19th.

"With WrestleMania 29 on the horizon the last stop on the road to the biggest show of the year is the callous coliseum known as the Elimination Chamber. With the WrestleMania line up taking shape the WWE and World Heavyweight Champions face the most daunting challenge in any championship reign - outlasting five other competitors in a barbaric steel chamber for the right to carry the title into the show of shows for a chance at immortality. In one of the most unpredictable matches of the year two Superstars start in the middle of the ring and four pods open at random during the course of the match adding another Superstar to the fray. Who will have the iron will to emerge victorious? Plus several other rivalries begin to reach a boiling point as the entire Raw and SmackDown rosters aim to prove themselves worthy of the grandest stage."

- It appears WWE has dropped any plans to do a DVD or feature film on Hall of Famer Gorgeous George. Originally, WWE Studios was going to do the movie and then they changed their minds and wanted to do a documentary DVD but the people involved in that project haven't heard anything from WWE in a long time.

Courtesy of WrestlingDVDNews.com, below is the synopsis for WWE's "Ladies and Gentlemen, My Name is Paul Heyman" DVD and Blu-ray that comes out on August 5th:

"One of the most controversial managers and figures in WCW, ECW and WWE History! For the first time ever, fans get the full story of the life and career of Paul Heyman. From his beginnings as a ringside photographer at MSG, to becoming a manager at WCW, then heading up the infamous ECW, Paul has his own unique brand of over-the-top, in your face entertainment that has developed him a cult-like following. Unfortunately his financial savvy didn’t match his creative genius, and ECW was eventually purchased by WWE.

Since joining WWE, Paul has gone on to great heights, including managing Brock Lesnar, when he finally broke Undertakers WrestleMania Streak this year.

This collection includes great behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, with past and present talent talking about Paul’s contribution to the world of sports-entertainment. Featuring interviews with Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Joey Styles, Mick Foley, Rob Van Dam, Stephanie McMahon and of course the man himself."

Paul Heyman's DVD selling well.

The WWE's new DVD on Paul Heyman, titled "Ladies and Gentlemen, My Name is Paul Heyman" is (if you will excuse the pun) doing extremely well and has sold out in a number of locations.

In New York, where Heyman was born and resides, the DVD was sold out within two days at a number of major retailers.

In California, Steven Ronquillo found a similar situation: "I attempted to purchase the new Paul Heyman bluray and failed miserably after going to eight different locations. The eight places I went to consisted of Walmarts, Best Buys, FYE, and Target. Only three of those locations had the DVDs available and those were low quantity. Most of the places had a spot for the bluray but the shelves were empty. I finally went on my Amazon app to purchase it with the hopes of receiving it sometime next week. To my surprise as I was making my purchase Amazon said they wouldn't be shipping the bluray for 10-15 days! Even if I selected 1 or 2 day shipping it would take almost two weeks before they could ship it. Safe to say that this item must be selling well if there are no copies found anywhere."

We have heard similar stories from others as well. A good sign for the DVD in its first week of release.

Looking at the forthcoming WWE 'Brothers of Destruction' DVD set featuring KANE and Undertaker

Just in time for Halloween next month, WWE will release "Brothers of Destruction" a new 1 DVD set looking at the tag team matches of their most celebrated supernatural characters, Kane and The Undertaker on 10/7.

Promotional material for the DVD set reads: "The saga of Undertaker and Kane has taken many sordid twists since the inferno that left their souls forever charred. The combustible combo has buried their deep-seeded rivalry on several occasions, always close enough to the surface to ignite at the touch of a spark. Still, their blood bond makes them an indomitable force in the ring. And every so often, old wounds close up long enough to unite WWE’s darkest duo under one common purpose – destruction. In this DVD, see the Brothers of Destruction scorch their path of wreckage through WWE. Seven devastating matches against some of the greatest tag teams of the new millennium are presented in their entirety. Witness WWE’s most volatile Superstars, The Deadman and the Devil’s Favourite Demon, on the same page before they tear each other apart once again!"

Unlike many of the traditional WWE DVD releases today, there is no in-depth documentary look at the characters, which in a way makes sense given the unique cloak and the creative leeway their storylines and personalities are often given. After all, you can't go too in-depth talking about a Deadman and his half-brother/half-demon sibling without stretching things, even for professional wrestling.

So, the DVD wisely collects matches from across the last decade or so, featuring bouts from WWE television and PPV broadcasts that range from 2001-2008.

The set opens with an April 2011 bout against Edge and Christian from Smackdown for the Tag Team titles with some good, frenetic action showcasing everyone with Steve Austin, Triple H and even Rhino showing up. By far, the best thing on the DVD for in-ring action.

From there, it's the Brothers against The Dudley Boyz ina Tables Match from Raw in July 2001. This isn't as satisfying as the match is more or less a backdrop for the Diamond Dallas Page stalker angle, which only serves to reinforce that Page was horribly miscast in that role for his WWE debut.

From here the focus is on Undertaker and Kane taking on WCW Invaders. They battle WCW Tag Team champions Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire in what's pretty much a slaughter to set up a cage match (also featured on the set) against DDP and Kanyon that also serves to spotlight the majesty and the power of the Brothers.

The set then jumps ahead, noting that the duo went their separate ways but reunited five years later. This sets up matches that spotlight the pair against Miz and John Morrison (ECW TV), the unique pairing of Big Daddy & Mark Henry and a Smackdown bout against Mr. Kennedy and MVP. While these matches all spotlight the theatrics and the dominance of the tag team, they would lack for anyone seeking back and forth competitive bouts.

The Brothers' dominance in WWE is the key lesson to be taught on this DVD. If you want great technical wrestling and scientific finesse, this isn't the set for you and WWE probably realizes that, instead focusing a product for the audience that will most likely embrace it - the die-hard Undertaker and Kane fans.

With all that said, DVD collectors may be interested in a series of bouts that have never been released on DVD from the WWE Invasion era storyline, including what would today on paper be considered some legitimate dream matches against The Dudley Boyz and the Edge and Christian tandem.

Blu-Ray Addendum: For those of you in Europe, a Blu-Ray edition was released, featuring matches that were likely the best from an in-ring standpoint including The Shield vs. Team Hell No & Undertaker from an April 2013 Raw and an excellent 2001 bout featuring the Brothers vs. Triple H and Steve Austin that is so good, it's worth the price of the Blu-Ray edition. So, if you are in that market, look for the Blu version.

As an overall product, the set delivers what it promises - a collection from a pretty unique and celebrated tag team. If you are an Undertaker or Kane fan, you know what you are looking for and with this DVD, you'll be getting it.

Sting DVD news:

The official promotional blurb for the forthcoming "Best of Sting" WWE DVD reads, "The battle between good and evil cast a dark shadow over his soul, but through all transformations, one man remained the lone symbol of an era. Sting became “The Franchise” of WCW almost instantly when he arrived and carried the company’s banner through to its final match in 2001. Whether casting his piercing war cry into the sky, or descending from it with somber, stone-faced determination, Sting captivated wrestling fans from all walks of life. Now, celebrate The Icon with this collection of matches and moments guaranteed to strike fear into the black hearts of all evildoers." The set will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on 9/23.
