Nah-Shon Burrell Defeated Yuri Villefort via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

1stRound: Burrell comes out firing, but the Blackzilian trips him to the mat. Villefort takes his back and has both hooks in. Burrell escapes two rear-naked choke attempts. They are back to their feet. Villefort unloading some powerful leg kicks. Burrell lands a left hook. Villefort stumbles to the ground on a takedown attempt and Burrell nails him with a couple of punches. Villefort immediately goes for a leg lock. They scramble to their feet. Burrell tags him with several elbows to the grill. Burrell, 10-9.

2ndRound: Villefort landing several solid leg kicks. He follows up with a vicious left hook to the body. Burrell clocks him with an uppercut. Villefort connects with a head kick. Burrell is the more explosive striker and continues to beat his opponent to the punch. Villefort’s mug is bloodied, but he continues to charge forward unfazed. Close round to score. Burrell, 10-9.

3rdRound: Villefort easily takes him down. He jumps on his back and slaps on a rear-naked choke. Burrell escapes and gets to his feet. Villefort pants him on his back again and instantly advances to his back. He goes for a heel-hook, but Burrell is unloading countless bombs on his head. Burrell wiggles free. Burrell nails him with a front kick to the face. They end with a flurry as the horn sounds. Burrell, 10-9, and likely swept the cards, 30-27.

Neil Magny Defeated Jon Manley via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

1stRound: Manley scored a brief takedown. He has Magney clinched against the fence. Manley is relentless with his takedown attempt, he’s been grinding him against the cage for over two minutes now. Manley nails him with a right hand as they finally separate. Magney hits him with a one-two combination. Crowd boos as the bell rings. Magney, 10-9.

2ndRound: After failing all first round, Manley easily secures a takedown within seconds. Magney reverses and gets to his feet. Magney scores a takedown of his own. They’re back to their feet and the clinch-fest continues. Magney, for his part, is at least trying to make this a fight by throwing strikes. Magney, 10-9.

3rdRound: Surprisingly, Manley hasn’t tries a takedown in two minutes of action. Magney turns the tables and scores a takedown. Manley attempts an armbar from off his back to no avail. Magney is giving him the business on the canvas. Magney plants him on his back one final time for good measure. Magney, 10-9, and runs the table, 30-27.

Kenny Robertson Defeated Brock Jardine via Submission (Knee Bar) at 2:57 in the 1stRound

1stRound: Robertson shoots, but gets caught in a guillotine choke on the way down. Robertson keeps his cool and wiggles free. He now has dominant top position. Robertson transitions to full mount, now takes Jardine’s back. Robertson locks in a rear-naked choke. Grappling clinic by Robertson. He slaps on an interesting leg lock and Jardine is forced to cry uncle.

Sam Stout Defaeted Caros Fodor via Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)

1stRound: Stout surprisingly initiating the clinch, but is eating some shots for his troubles. Fodor tags him with a solid left hand. The Strikeforce transfer scores a takedown for a brief moment. Stout has him clinched against the cage. Stout plants him on his back. He moves to full mount. He tries an armbar, though is out of time. Stout, 10-9.

2ndRound: Fodor clocks him with a vicious right hook. Two body shots by Stout. Stout looks impressive, he keeps beating him to the punch and Fodor can’t take him down. Fodor finally gets him down, but the bell rings. Close round to score. Stout, 10-9.

3rdRound: Fodor tipped him to the canvas for a split second. Stout is noticeably stronger than his opponent. Fodor drags him to the ground, but Stout gets to his feet rather easily. Solid one-two combo by Fodor. Stout has him clinched against the cage as the clock winds down. Fodor, 10-9, but probably lost the scrap, 29-28.

Dennis Bermudez Defeated Matt Grice via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

1stRound: Bermudez clinches him against the cage. Grice reverses. Grice trips him to the mat, but gets reversed and Bermudez lands in full mount. Making matters worse, Grice’s right arm is trapped between Bermudez’s legs. He’s eating countless shots, but finally escapes. Grice wobbles him with a left hook. He follows up with a straight right. Bermudez eats a short elbow and right hand. Bermudez charges forward and tags him with a couple of punches. Grice drops him with a nasty left hook. Bermudez is dazed and confused and is hanging on for dear life. It appears Bermudez has recovered. Grice nails him with several more strikes before the bell blares. Grice, 10-9.

2ndRound: Grice nails him with another left hook. Bermudez’s shot gets stuffed. Grice takes him down and immediately takes his back. Bermudez fights free. Grice’s takedown attempt is thwarted. Bermudez lands an illegal knee to the head, but referee Herb Dean didn’t see it. Grice, 10-9.

3rdRound: Bermudez comes out like a house on fire. He floors him with a right hand and pounces. He’s giving Grice the business on the canvas. Quite the turn of events. Grice gets to his feet, but continues to take punches. Although, Grice keeps winging punches in return. Great fight. Big uppercut by Bermudez. Grice looks like he’s out on his feet, though won’t stop fighting back. Bermudez needs to unleash another flurry and he could get the rally win. Grice nails him with a right hand. If this doesn’t get the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, then fans are in for a real treat with something really special later on. Bermudez, 10-9, but likely lost, 29-28.

Michael Chiesa Defeated Anton Kuivanen via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:29 in the 2ndRound

1stRound: Both are flinging the leather early, but nothing devastating connecting for either. Kuivanen is looking to land a fight-ending right hand, while Chiesa is much more diverse with his attack. Kuivanen charges ahead and tags him with two solid right hands. He follows up with a left punch. He tries a flying knee, but Chiesa catches it and trips him to the ground. Kuivanen, 10-9.

2ndRound: Chiesa learned his lesson in the opening round and wants to bring this scrap to the mat. Kuivanen’s takedown D is solid so far. Chiesa jumps on his back and drags him to the mat. He locks on a body triangle and slaps on a rear-naked choke. Kuivanen is defending well. I mean, he was defending well. Kuivanen has no choice but to tap on the second RNC.

Brendan Schaub Defeated Lavar Johnson via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

1stRound: Johnson is headhunting, but Schaub neutralizes his power by easily planting him on his back. Schaub attempts a guillotine choke, while Johnson unloads countless bombs to his dome. Johnson survived the submission, though Schaub ends up in side control. Johnson fights to his feet and trips Schaub to the canvas. Schaub sweeps and gets top position. Crowd getting anxious. Schaub, 10-9.

2ndRound: Vicious body shots by Johnson. Schaub easily trips him to the mat. Schaub was fairly active with his ground attack, but not good enough for the ref because they get stood up. Not a big deal, Johnson is right back to staring up at the lights within seconds. Crowd is none too pleased. Schaub, 10-9.

3rdRound: Big uppercut by Johnson, but Schaub takes him down with the greatest of ease. Four minutes to go… Ref stands them up, which is surprising because Schaub was very active with big punches in the guard. Regardless, Johnson gets taken right back down within seconds – literally. Schaub advances to full mount. Schaub, 10-9.

Robbie Lawler Defeated Josh Koscheck via TKO (Punches) at 3:57 in the 1stRound

1stRound: To the surprise of nobody, Koscheck goes for an early takedown and gets it. Lawler fights to his feet. Koscheck’s nose is trickling blood, I’m not sure how that happened. Lawler’s back down. Fans are quick to pull the boo trigger after the Schaub/Johnson scrap. Lawler wiggles free and nails him with some knees to the body. He’s unloading several bombs and referee Herb Dean brings the assault to an end. That stoppage seemed a tad premature.

Court McGee Defeated Josh Neer via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

1stRound: Neer wobbles him with a left hook. Stiff jab by McGee. He follows up with a jab-kick combo. McGee’s hands look sharp. He’s doing a solid job of using his reach advantage. Big left hand by McGee. Neer just keeps taking these shots without returning fire. McGee hurts him with a kick to the liver. He’s going to town to the body now. Neer crumbles to the canvas. McGee tries a rear-naked choke just before the horn sounds. McGee, 10-9.

2ndRound: McGee looks fantastic in his welterweight debut. Neer is much more active in the middle stanza. Solid jab by Neer. He follows up with a big uppercut. Neer is starting to turn the tables in the standup game. Neer unleashing combinations now. McGee is not quite as aggressive as he was in the previous round. Neer motions for him to come get some. Neer, 10-9.

3rdRound: This scrap’s up for grabs, and it appears the momentum has swung in Neer’s direction. McGee has him clinched against the cage. McGee scores a brief takedown. Neer’s face is bloodied, so that might play a role in the scorecards if the judges have their say in this. McGee lands another takedown. McGee attempts an arm-triangle choke to no avail. He settles for battering Neer’s face with short elbows instead. McGee, 10-9, and likely held on to win, 29-28.

Urijah Faber Defeated Ivan Menjivar via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:34 in the 1stRound

1stRound: Menjivar hip tosses him to the mat, but Faber reverses and ends up in side control. Menjivar brings him into his full guard. Faber raining down some vicious elbows. Menjivar nails him in the grill with an upkick. More violent elbows by Faber. Menjivar scrambles to his feet, though Faber jumps on his back. He locks in a standing rear-naked choke. Menjivar is forced to call it quits.

Lyoto Machida Defeated Dan Henderson via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

1stRound: Herb Dean is the third man inside the Octagon. Henderson lands an inside leg kick. Extended feeling out period from both fighters. Machida continues to fake strikes just to see how Henderson will react. He kicks Henderson in the midsection. Henderson charges forward and clocks him with two right hands. He had a body lock, but wasn’t able to drag Machida to the ground. Machida trips him to the mat and lands a couple of punches just before the horn blares. That likely won him the round. Machida, 10-9.

2ndRound: Henderson is looking for that inside leg kick-overhand right combo. Machida kicks him again in the stomach. He follows up with a front kick to the face. Henderson shoots and is met with a knee to the midsection. Another kick to the body by Machida. “The Dragon” continues to switch stances to try and keep Hendo off balance. Henderson tags him with a left hand. Close round to score. Machida, 10-9.

3rdRound: Powerful kick to the body by Machida and he immediately follows up with a jab. Henderson gets the Brazilian to the ground and has over three minutes to do work. Machida doing a good job of avoiding damage. Machida scrambles free. Big inside leg kick by Machida. Henderson eats a front kick to the face. Machida lands another head kick. Another close stanza to score. This could be controversial. Henderson, 10-9, but likely lost, 29-28.

The pro-Henderson crowd boos the verdict.

Ronda Rousey Defeated Liz Carmouche via Submission (Armbar) at 4:49 in the 1stRound (Rousey retains UFC bantamweight title)

1stRound: “Big” John McCarthy is the third man inside the Octagon for the first female fight in UFC history. Rousey comes out like a house on fire. She has Carmouche clinched against the cage. Rousey lands an uppercut. Rousey drags her to the mat. Carmouche slips out the backdoor and jumps on her back. Rousey is piggybacking her opponent right now. Carmouche is face cranking her. Rousey is in serious trouble, but finally manages to shake the heavy underdog off. Rousey dives into side control. Rousey has her in a headlock and is raining down punches. Rousey slaps on her trademark armbar. Carmouche has to hold on for just 30 more seconds. It’s a wrap.
