The Brisbane Broncos have smashed the Newcastle Knights 50-6 in their NRL elimination final at Aussie Stadium, in Sydney. After 16 minutes, Broncos centre David Stagg went in for a try in the corner after two great passes from Darren Lockyer and Justin Hodges. Just a few minutes later, powerhouse Broncos centre Brent Tate crashed over next to the posts, after receiving a lovely flick-pass from Karmichael Hunt. Justin Hodges grabbed a try off a grubber-kick, in the 35th minute, and Karmichael Hunt scored under the posts, just before halftime, after a great break from hooker Shaun Berrigan. The Broncos went to the break with a 24-point lead. Dane Carlaw scored Brisbane's fifth try in the 45th minute and Petero Civoniceva hammered his way over just minutes later. Darren Locker scored in the 56th minute before winger Darius Boyd scored an eighth try just moments later. The Knights snatched a consolation try in the dying minutes via fullback Kurt Gidley.
