Scott Styris' place in the New Zealand cricket team to contest next month's Champions Trophy in India is in doubt.

Styris has ended his English county cricket season with Middlesex two weeks early to have a injury assessed in New Zealand.

The all rounder aggravated an existing injury when playing as a batsman only in a one-day match last week and he was to return home immediately.

"He hasn't got a history of back trouble so we don't know what it is," New Zealand team manager Lindsay Crocker told The Herald on Sunday newspaper.

He said all the bowlers who have recently been under injury clouds - Daniel Vettori, Jacob Oram, Kyle Mills and Shane Bond - would go into camp four days before the rest later this month.

"We need to get their 'loads' up before the tournament and at that time, we can truly assess how they're going. We'll make a final evaluation then."

I hope Scott is not to seriously injured and manages to make the squad for the trip to India,Especially when he is such a good utility player for New Zealand with both the bat and ball..
