Police are searching for two young suspects after a one-year-old boy was shot dead while he slept in a stroller and his mother was injured during an attempted robbery in Brunswick, Ga., Thursday morning, reports say.
Sherry West told Action News in Jacksonville that two African American boys between the ages of 10 and 15 approached her and her baby at around 9 a.m. and demanded money.
"He said, 'I'm going to kill you if you don't give me money,' and I said, 'I swear I don't have any.'"
The older boy brandished a gun, West said.
"I put my arms over my baby and he shoves me and then he shot my baby right in the head," West told the broadcaster.
She was shot in the leg and has since been released from hospital.
