Donald Trump is apparently not as offended at being called the son of an ape as he was a couple of months ago.
"Celebrity Apprentice" host Trump has withdrawn his lawsuit against "Real Time" funnyman Bill Maher, which he filed after Maher jokingly insinuated that Trump could be the spawn of sex between a human and an orangutan.
But Maher might not be entirely off the hook. Trump's attorney, Michael Cohen, told TheWrap that the suit will be refiled in the future.

"The lawsuit was temporarily withdrawn to be amended and refiled at a later date," Cohen said in the statement.

He did not elaborate on why the suit was withdrawn, or when the suit will be refiled.
Maher made the wisecrack on "The Tonight Show," in response to Trump's continued questioning of President Barack Obama's citizenship, telling host Jay Leno that he would donate to $5 million to charity if Trump could prove he wasn't the product of human-ape sex.

Trump promptly furnished a copy of his birth certificate to Yahoo News, and filed suit in early February after Maher failed to come through with the $5 million donation.

"He promised me $5 million for charity if I provided certain information," Trump told "Fox & Friends" before filing the suit. "Well, I provided the information. He didn't pay. So today I sue Bill Maher for $5 million for charity."
When it was suggested that comedian Maher might have been, well, joking, Trump brushed the possibility aside.

"I don't think he was joking. He said it with venom. That was venom. That wasn't a joke. In fact, he was nervous when he said it; it was a pathetic delivery. But he said, 'I will give,' and said, 'I will accept.'"
