Chelsea look set to sign Germany winger Andre Schurrle after finally agreeing a deal with Bayer Leverkusen.

The 22-year-old is set to become the Blues’ first signing of the summer, and comes after months of speculation surrounding a possible switch to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are known to have failed with three separate bids for Schurrle last year, but reports in Leverkusen claim they have finally got their man after striking a deal this week.

It’s thought that a fee of around £20million has been shaken hands on, after Leverkusen turned down the option of including Kevin de Bruyne in the deal as part of a swap package.

Chelsea have already opened talks with Schurrle over a contract, with a five-year-deal worth around £90,000-a-week in the pipeline.

The move comes after his representatives were wooed with the VIP treatment for Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, that helped convince the player to move to England.

The Blues, who have no manager in place for next season, opted to do business based on a recommendation by technical director Michael Emenalo, who is Roman Abramovich’s right-hand man.

Schurrle’s arrival will kick-start a reshuffle at Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Michael Essien, Florent Malouda, Yossi Benayoun, Ross Turnbull, Paulo Ferreira and even Frank Lampard all set to depart.

Only one I don't want leaving is Lampard.

If we get Mourinho back in the summer there would be the possibility of getting Ronaldo too, as Ronaldo has said he would go where ever Mourinho went, which would be awesome and be guaranteed goals from a striker at least every game

I doubt Ronaldo will go anywhere in the EPL other than ManU, even if Mou goes back to Chelsea.
