The Dead Man is alive and well in the WWE.
The Undertaker will be on Raw in a six-man tag match against The Shield with his "brother" Kane and Daniel Bryan. This is great news for all of us who are fans of the character and more importantly, for the WWE.
The need to have top stars on the roster competing every week has become more important in recent weeks since CM Punk has taken time off to heal from injuries. The Rock, who was slated to be part of Extreme Rules, has been injured from his battle with John Cena at WrestleMania 29. Triple H has had issues with his arm from his WM bout with Brock Lesnar.
The Undertaker, oddly enough, seems more fit right now than the colossal talent of injured stars. And while we are less than enthused about the idea of John Cena and Ryback and the juggernaut that has become the World title, having Undertaker around makes things a little easier to deal with.
Also, this may finally be the first time we truly see The Shield in jeopardy of losing a match together. It's about time we see a crack in the wall of the best thing going in the WWE today.
The WWE needs the Undertaker.
If this is a successful program, which all indications are that it should be, and the veterans sell for the Unholy Trinity, then is it possible we could see more of Undertaker on television leading toward Extreme Rules? Will there be a six-man tag match on the pay-per-view? Will this ultimately lead to Team Hell No losing the Tag titles to Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins?
Yes! Yes! Yes!
The WWE has scrambled for the past three years trying to make changes on the fly with injuries, bad programming and lost potential in feuds. The Undertaker and The Shield is brilliant. The more Undertaker is on television and in the ring, the more it pours salt into the wound of CM Punk. He could come back now sooner than later because he can use the "disrespect" card again or some other "demon" that forces him to the ring.
The scene in London will be chippy, to say the least. The Undertaker, for all he does not say, will speak volumes once he gets in the ring.
That's the way it should be.
