DeadlineHollywood.com reported this evening that former WWE Senior Vice President, Creative and Development, Eric Pankowski has been hired by CBS TV Distribution to develop new, original syndicated programming and oversee the syndicated distributor's current series.
Pankowski completely took over the WWE Creative direction when Bryan Gewertz was removed in October 2012. He was removed from his position in March. The word making the rounds within the company was that Pankowski wasn't receptive to ideas beyond his own and that eventually cost him allies within the company. He was described to me as not knowing how to deal with personalities while in a position that required him to deal with a LOT of eclectic personalities.

There were a few instances of Pankowski and wrestlers getting into arguments over what would work and what wouldn't on WWE programming. It was described to me as a "Hollywood mindset not adapting to the pro wrestling mindset, and instead trying to force the opposite."

The final straw was said to have been Vince McMahon's reaction to The Undertaker's opponent being decided via a Four Way match, as opposed to creating a personal issue between Taker and his eventual opponent, CM Punk.
