The Viacom-owned Tr3s, targeting Hispanic millennials, has greenlighted several new programs.

High Noon Entertainment, the producers behind TLC's Cake Boss, is adding two more series to its slate -- this time targeting the Hispanic audience.

The Viacom-owned cable network Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas, which programs for the Hispanic millennial generation, has ordered unscripted series centered on family businesses, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. The announcement will be made Wednesday in New York during its circus-themed upfront, where Daddy Yankee will perform.

Familia de Circo, centered on a family-run circus business run by five Mexican brothers, takes viewers behind-the-scenes of the 40-year history of the company. The series will chronicle the acts and operations behind the multi-million dollar empire that travels across the U.S.

Divas del Azucar (working title) follows a cake shop to the stars that is based in Miami and run by a Cuban mother and her two daughters, in addition to a cake decorator and a defiant delivery guy. Both Circo and Azucar come from High Noon.

The new orders are the result of a Tr3s study that found that 45 percent of Hispanics in the adults 18-34 demographic are residing at home, causing co-viewing in primetime to rise.

"Our significant investment in more original production is a major step in the evolution of the brand that now reflects a more balanced Hispanic audience and offering," said Fernando Gaston, brand manager of Tr3s. "As the evolution of Tr3s continues, we're confident these fold formats, rich characters and big stars will resonate with viewers."

Other new show orders at Tr3s -- which will bring more than 300 hours of original content -- will include telenovelas, comedies, music and a new docu-series.

Telenovelas Fortuna, about the double life of a wealthy casino mogul living in two worlds with two families, and Ninas Mal 2, a new iteration of the 2010 series about high-society girls with a completely new cast, have been given the green light.

Comedy and music specials on the docket include: Comedy Central Roast with the first Latin roastee, Mexican comedian Hector Suarez; MTV's World Stage, a live event music series; En tour, in the vein of the popular MTV "Making of" format; Unplugged, with Latin star Ricardo Arjona for a late 2013 launch; and Remexa, spotlighting the top Latino music genre in the U.S.

The new docu-series Empuje (Drive), entered on the health and wellness among young Latinos featuring well-known athletes, will also debut. Tr3s is owned by Viacom International Media Networks -- The Americas, a unit of Viacom, and reaches 6.7 million Hispanic households and 34.3 million television households.
