Andrew Karpen has been promoted to co-CEO of Focus Features, the indie studio said Wednesday.
Karpen has been president of the company behind "Brokeback Mountain" and "The Place Beyond the Pines" since 2006. He will oversee the company in conjunction with James Schamus. Both men signed new contracts to remain at Focus.
Focus is a division of NBCUniversal.
