FIGHT ONE: KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV vs. ABEL TRUJILLO (158 LB. CATCHWEIGHT)

- Nurmagomedov missed weight, coming in at 158.5 pounds. 10 percent of his purse goes to the NSAC; 10 percent goes to Trujillo.

ROUND ONE: Mario Yamasaki is the referee for this fight. No touch of gloves, and we're off. 29 seconds before the first strike is thrown, so they're overcoming the weigh-in tension and feeling each other out. Bummer. Trujillo closes the distance with punches and gets a fast takedown. Trujillo is in the guard of Nurmagomedov. Trujillo gives up an arm, and is in trouble here. Trujillo finally wiggles free and is in side control. Nurmagomedov almost had an armbar form the bottom. Nurmagomedov gets up, takes Trujillo's back. Trujillo gets up, and Nurmagomedov throws him back down. Rinse, repeat. And again. Nurmagomedov knows how to turn back control into suplexes. Trujillo back to his feet, and gets thrown back down again. Four belly to back suplexes. Make it five. And six. This is crazy. None of them are crazy jaw-dropping suplexes, but that's more suplexes in three minutes than you see in a year. Trujillo rolls free from number seven and gets top control, full guard. Nurmagomedov locks in a triangle with forty seconds left. Trujillo might tap. Trujillo rolled and now it's a mounted triangle for Nurmagomedov. Switching to an armbar. He's got it 100% locked as the horn sounds to end the round. 10-8 Nurmagomedov

ROUND TWO: Round 2 starts the same way, Truijllo in the middle and no strikes thrown. Nurmagomedov lands a left hook and winds up taking Trujillo's back standing. Nurmagomedov trips Trujillo, but Trujillo spins free and stuns Nurmagomedov with a left hand. Back to the middle of the cage. Nice right hand by Nurmagomedov hurt Truhjillo. Nurmagomedov takes his back and trips him to the ground. Trujillo back to his feet, and dragged back down. Knees to the ribs from Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov pulls him off the cage and throws him down. Nurmagomedov keeps Trujillo on the mat and has a body triangle on Trujillo. Nurmagomedov lets it go and Trujillo gets back up again, with Nurmagomedov still on his back. Another trip. Trujillo gets back up, down, up, down. this time he rolls as he's being thrown down and gets Nurmagomedov off of his back. Nurmagomedov throws Trujillo down from that position and takes his back again. This is something else, dude. Trujillo is being pressed into the fence, on all fours. Trujillo back to his feet pressed into the cage. Nurmagomedov trips him down again. This is utterly fascinating. Trujillo tries to get back up but collapses back down. Trujillo eating left hands to the ear as the round comes to an end. 10-9 Nurmagomedov. 20-17 Nurmagomedov

ROUND THREE: Round three starts the same as one and two began. Trujillo lands a hook but gets grabbed and dragged to the mat. Nurmagomedov spins to the back as Trujillo gets back to his feet. Nurmagomedov trips him and maintains back position. Trujillo gets back up and gets taken back down. Trujillo gets back up. Trujillo gets thrown back down. Nurmagomedov lands knees. Trujillo gets back up. Trujillo gets thrown back down. This is fun. Back up. Back down. Trujillo is literally begging yamasaki to break them up. That's hilarious. Trujillo spins on the mat, and Nurmagomedov is in guard. Half-guard now. Nurmagomedov takes the back as soon as Yamasaki unjustly tells them to move. Trujillo stands. Trujillo throws his hands in the air like he just don't care, and gets thrown. And gets back up. And gets back down. And back up. And back down. And back up. And back down. Trujillo has quit. He's not fighting. And back up. And back down. And back up. And suplexed back down. And back up. And back down. 10-8 Nurmagomedov. 30-25 Nurmagomedov Trujillo should be embarrassed.

WINNER: Khabib Nurmagomedov by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

- Nurmagomedov set a UFC record with 21 takedowns on 27 attempts. Honest to God, I thought it was more than that.

FIGHT TWO: COLTON SMITH VS. ROBERT WHITTAKER (WELTERWEIGHT)

- Ugh.

ROUND ONE: Chris Tognoni is the third man in the cage. Whittaker is keeping his left hand down at his knee. Whittaker almost lands a killshot uppercut as Smith shoots. Smith shoots in behind a punch and gets stuffed. Nice combo by Whittaker. Smith takes advantage of Whittaker's left hand being so low with a huge right hand. Smith eats a jab. Smith with a leg kick. wild right hook by smith somehow finds a home. Surprised this has been standing for half a round now. High kick by Smith, but Whittaker ate it and landed 3 or 4 nice punches. Whittaker is working the jab from his low left hand. It's coming from from unusual angles, and Smith doesn't know how to stop it. Smith shoots, and gets stuffed again. Whittaker lands a few shots as well. Smith's face is getting red. Whittaker with a nice combo again. Smith with a superman punch. Nice right hand by Smith and Whittaker is down. Whittaker gets back up, but Smith has a standing kimura which he uses to get Whittaker back down. Whittaker gets free and the round ends standing. 10-9 Whittaker smith almost stole it late.

ROUND TWO: Whittaker comes out with his left hand still down. Smith shoots and gets knocked down by a big left hook. Smith gets back up and eats more shots on his feet. Smith's right eye is JACKED up. Smith regains his composure and Whittaker backs off somewhat. Smith circling away from Whittaker's power right hand, but whittaker lands it anyhow. Whittaker cuts him off, and they exchange punches. Nice left from smith, nice right from Whittaker. Whittaker with a nice combo ending in a backing up uppercut. smith almost gets a takedown, but Whittaker gets free. Might officially be a takedown because Whittaker's knee hit the mat. Smith continues to circle counterclockwise. Whittaker's doing a good job with his head to avoid strikes while landing counters of his own. Whittaker eats a shot to the groin and Tognoni stops the clock. Whittaker didn't seem to want the fight paused, and we're back. Australians are tough. Whittaker continues to slip the jab, and then a nasty left hook. Nice combo from Smith. Smith is constantly circling, but Whittaker's footwork is far superior, as he's winning every exchange. Smith's getting lit up. His face is red as a stop sign. Every time Smith comes in, he eats a ton of shots. Whittaker's swarming, trying to finish, but it's going to the third. 10-9 Whittaker Whittaker's fun!

ROUND THREE: Hopefully for his love life, Smith won't go face first into a million left hooks again. Nope. Smith runs face first into a left hand and gets KO'd. Two more shots on the ground and Tognoni stops the fight. The stoppage was premature, but Smith had nothing for Whittaker. It was a mercy stoppage more than anything.

WINNER: Robert Whittaker by TKO

FIGHT THREE: DENNIS BERMUDEZ VS. MAX HOLLOWAY (FEATHERWEIGHT)

- Bermudez is five inches shorter, and has a four inch reach disadvantage. Holloway is the youngest fighter on the UFC roster.

ROUND ONE: Herb Dean is the referee, so this won't be on the ground much. Bermudez working the double jab early, to find range. Holloway with a front kick, which Bermudez grabs. Can't get the takedown, and we're back to the middle. Holloway with a job and a straight right hand, Bermudez flicks a triple jab. Lots of feints from both fighters so far. Holloway is consistently flicking the jab. Bermudez shoots a single, but Holloway defends with a guillotine attempt, forcing Bermudez to back off. That's twice now tha tBermudez got stuffed by a guillotine attempt. Spinning back kick to the face from Holloway, and Bermudez is in trounle. Holloway with a knee to the body. Bermudez instinctively grapples trying to press Holloway into the fence. He's got holloway tied up for 40 seconds or so, and he seems to have the cobwebs shaken out. Holloway lands another spin kick to the body after just missing one. Holloway throws another one and misses, then throws one more to the head and knocks Bermudez down. 10-9 Holloway OK, Vitor, look what you started!

ROUND TWO: Bermudez gets the takedown early but Holloway takes Bermudez' back and gets two hooks in. Bermudez stands and Holloway jumps off the back and lands a kick to the face. Rogan is telling us that Bermudez' corner spilled ice in the cage. Nice leg kick from Bermudez. Another spin kick, but it was telegraphed and Bermudez avoided it. Left hook from Bermudez. And another about 20 seconds later. High kick from Holloway, partially blocked. Bermudez coming forward behind the jabs but isn't able to do much with it. nice two punch combo from Holloway. He went high low there. Holloway looks great. Leg kick from Bermudez briefly drops Holloway. Bermudez shoots a double, but Holloway stuffs is. Knee from Holloway with his back against the fance. Holloway with an elbow to the face and Bermudez pushes off. Superman punch from Bermudez in an attempt to set up a takedown, but no dice. High switch kick from Holloway. Nice 1-2 from Holloway. Holloway missed a caopeira kick, which led Bermudez to miss a flying knee. Back to the middle, and Bermudez finally gets a takedown. In guard, high guard at that. the round ends with Holloway throwing his legs up. 20-18 Holloway

ROUND THREE: Holloway with a combination to the body. High kick from Holloway. Bermude is really coming forward, and gets a takedown when Holloway throws a front kick. Holloway walks up the cage and separates, but not before eating a knee from Bermudez. Bermudez throwing a ton of jabs, but there's not a lot of steam on them. Bermudez comes inside and hits a left to the body. Holloway's nowhere near as active, but that might just be because Bermudez is being more aggressive. Bermudez with a trip takedown but Holloway gets right back up. Bermudez has Holloway pressed against teh cage, but they separate with no damage done. Bermudez continues to press. Clearly he knows he's down 20-18. Two minutes remain for a home run. Bermudez throws a lazy kick and almost got taken down his own self. Another trip takedown from Bermude. Full guard. Holloway's using his length to get a really high guard. Big elbows from Bermudez. Holloway has to control posture, lest he lose in the last minute. Half-guard, and Holloway is bleeding pretty well. Bermudez tries to get to mount, but gets stuck in half-guard. Twenty seconds, probably not enough time. Holloway is getting beaten up here, but not 10-8 beaten up, ya dig? 29-28 Holloway Good fight.

WINNER: Dennis Bermudez by inexplicable split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

- From the UFC Twitter feed: It's official, Khabib landed 21 takedowns which sets a UFC record. Sherk previously had 16 in a 5 round fight and Fioravanti had 13 in 3

FIGHT FOUR: MIKE PYLE VS. RICK STORY (WELTERWEIGHT)

_ I had a mullet like Mike Pyle once. then I woke up with terror sweats.

ROUND ONE: Steve Mazzagatti is the referee for this welterweight fight. Story takes the middle and presses forward early, trying to get Pule into the cage. Story gets a takedown in the middle. Full guard. Story peppering the ribs. Pyle locked up an arm, forcing Story to regather himself. OK, he's loose, and back to the ribs. Pyle using a high guard, looking for a triangle. It's not there. Pyle has underhooks from his back. Herb Dean just threw a shoe at his backstage monitor, wondering where the takedown us here. Story postures up, and Pyle has an armbar. Story spins out. that was close, and fast. Story has one more thing to think of now. Story presses Pyle's skull into the fence. Pyle has Story's posture controlled pretty well. Herb Dean is gathering straw in order to make a Steve Mazagatti voodoo doll. Pyle gets up, and we're back to the middle. Story landed a few body shots before Pyle got free. Pyle eats a few wild hooks, and has a bloody mouth now. 90 seconds left. Story just dropped Pyle with a left, and pounces. I can't believe Pyle stayed conscious. Story dives in and tries to unleash hell, but Pyle used his legs to defend while dazed, and Story couldn't connect. Pyle stayed alive, but barely. 10-8 Story

ROUND TWO: All the credit int he world to Mike Pyle for staying conscious and having the presence to use his legs to keep Story off of him. That said, bad round for Pyle. Story with two rights to the body and a left hook to the head. Pyle circles away. Pyle grabs a charging Story and lands a knee in the clinch. Story walks right through it and gets Pyle down. Pyle grabs Story's arm and has an inverted armbar. The cage is in the way and he can't get it into a full kimura. He's relentlessly going from the chicken wing from the bottom. Nope. Story put all his weight on it and Pyle lost it. that was a fun sequence. Story on top in full guard, and both guys are content to rest here for a minute. Well, not really, but it's a true stalemate. Herb Dean is loading up his shotgun. Pyle grabs the fence in an attempt to spin, and Mazzagatti tells him to stop a good second after he let go. Story postures up, and eats an elbow as he dives in. MMA refereeing is so inconsistent. Most refs would've stood this up an hour and a week ago. Not complaining, just saying. Story's doing nothing from the top. I mean, literally, there's no motion from either guy. 10-9 Pyle. 19-18 Story There's no way in hell any judge gives it to Pyle though, since he was on his back.

ROUND THREE: Pyle with a slow leg kick. Story charges in and lands a right to the body followed by an overhand left. Pyle lands a slappy right hand. Both guys are gassing out. All these punches are slower than The bridges of Madison County. Standing elbow by Pyle. Story didn't like that one. Story wouldn't have let Pyle just wakl in tight like that in the first two rounds. Pyle with another over the top right elbow. Pyle is trying to clinch, and Story's too winded to stop him. Story shoots and presses Pyle into the fence. Story gets him down and takes Pyle's back as Pyle gets back to his feet. This is a horrible round. They're soooooo slooooow now. Pyle staying in a three point stance eating soft knees to the thigh begging Mazagatti to split them apart while the clock ticks. Great strategy when you're losing. Story backs off, and Pyle has founs his range. Pyle landing at will with lefts and rights from the outside. Squeakly wheel gets the grease. Takedown by Story. Pyle reverses and back mounts Story. Pyle's tired, and is barely slapping with those punches. The fight ends 10-9 Pyle. 28-28 Draw Again, no way in hell Pyle wins the second round on judge's scorecards.

WINNER: Mike Pyle by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

MAIN CARD ON PAY PER VIEW

FIGHT ONE: DONALD CERRONE VS. K.J. NOONS (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Mario Yamasaki is the referee for this fight. Both men charge to the middle and Noons hits a leg kick right away. Interesting. Noons throws a straight kick and almost gets taken down. He did eat a knee, though. Head kick from Noons, partially blocked. Both guys trading leg kick attempts constantly. Noons goes high with a kick. Noons pumps a double jab. Cerrone with an outside leg kick that Noons didn't check at all. Noons charges in and eats a straight knee to the body. Noons has a cut or stratch under his right eye. Straight takedown from Cowboy. Noons gets back up but eats an uppercut to the face as soon as he got his third point off the mat. Cerrone really working the leg kicks. He's using both legs, and going inside and outside. Noons changes his stance for a moment. noons takes a minor poke to the eye. Yamasaki missed it, but Cerrone backed off and audibly asked if Noons was ok. He is, we continue. Standing knee by Cerrone. Nice combination of punches by Cerrone, and finished with a right head kick. that was nice. He got Noons looking low and then blasted him with a head kick. Noons is a tough dude, though. Noons telegraphed a spinning back kick, which took 5 seconds to throw. 10-9 Cerrone

ROUND TWO: Noons feints a few jabs but gets taken down. Cerrone gets the back, but Noons slips out. Knee to the face as they separate. Nice exchange for Cowboy. Cerrone ducks under and goes for a double, but gets stuffed. Cerrone's controlling this fight. Noons is game, and isn't getting squashed, but he has zero idea what Cerrone's going to throw next. Inside leg kick from Cerrone. Noons is getting tired. His punches are landing, and he's getting in clse, but there's no power. Noons keeps pawing at his right eye, practically begging Cerrone to go to the eye. Cerrone goes to the eye. The eye is bleeding now. See how that works? Noons responds with a couple of nice lefts, then backs off so he can paw at the eye again. Spinning backfist from Noons lands flush. Noons charges in with a flying knee, but Cerrone caught it and planted him like Arn Anderson. Cerrone on top, goes to half-guard, and is pounding away. Looking for an arm-triangle, but gives it up. Cerrone content to work the body from half-guard, and pushes Noons' face down whenever Noons tries to sit up. Knee to the body from half-guard by Cerrone. Elbows to the face. Side control with 10 seconds left. Cerrone goes for mount as the round ends. 20-18 Cerrone

ROUND THREE: Huggies in the middle of the cage. Barf. Leg kick from Cerrone. Noons with a leg kick, but eats a knee to the body for his efforts. Noons misses with a wild haymaker. Noons is so slow now, but points for his gameness. Noons trying to taunt Cerrone into getting sloppy, but he doesn't taunt like a Diaz and immediately got taken down. Whoopsie! Elbows from the top by Cerrone, right int he middle of the cage. These elbows are sneaky, but vicious. Noons trying to get up, but Cerrone is a far superior grappler and can't get up. Cerrone's busting his up something fierce. Noons misses the old days of Strikeforce where elbows to the ground weren't allowed. His face is a bloody bloody mess (the first bloody was like they say bloody in England, the second one was like what vampires drink). Cerrone did all that from guard, and he has half-guard now. bad position for Cerrone, though, and he's using his arms to keep position rather than to force Noons to need a transfusion in 20 minutes time. Side control with less than a minute to go. Cerrone's not doing much from here, but he doesn't have to. 10-8 Cerrone. 30-26 Cerrone

WINNER: Donald Cerrone by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

FIGHT TWO: GRAY MAYNARD VS. T.J. GRANT (LIGHTWEIGHT

ROUND ONE: These guys are throwing killshots right from the beginning. Both Grant and Maynard are landing early and often. No kicks, no grappling so far. Grant hurt Maynard with a big right. Maynard goes to the body with a right hand. Then Grant drops him with a straight right to the jaw. Maynard continues to get back up and Grant continues to drop him with huge punches. I can't believe this fight hasn't been stopped yet. Oh wait, yes it has. TJ Grant just destroyed Gray Maynard!

WINNER: TJ Grant by TKO at 2:26 of round one.

FIGHT THREE: GLOVER TEIXEIRA VS. JAMES TE HUNA (LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT

ROUND ONE: Herb Dean is the referee. Te Huna takes the middle, and Teixeira takes a single. He lets it go and lands an overhand right. Te Huna ate it well. Both guys are standing face to face, swinging like they're married in the 1970s. Teixeira gets the takedown in the middle of the cage, into half-guard. Teixeira lands an elbow here and there, but he's more concerned about getting out of half-guard. Te Huna manages to work Teixeira back into full guard. Teixeira gets back to half-guard. Te Huna, is holding on to Teixeira's right leg, and uses it to get to his feet. Te Huna leaves his neck out as he gets to his feet, so Teixeira grabs a guillotine, pulls guard, and *Goldy voice* it is all over *end Goldy voice*

WINNER: Glover Teixeira by submission (guillotine) at 2:38 of round one)

FIGHT FOUR: JUNIOR DOS SANTOS VS. MARK HUNT (HEAVYWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Steve Mazzagatti has drawn the assignment for this fight. Hunt takes the middle of the cage. Both fighters showing respect early, trading leg kicks. JDS is staying on the outside. JDS is working to the body. hunt with a bog left to the body. JDS drops Hunt with a huge overhand right that would murder anyone else, but Hunt gets back to his feet immediately. That was amazing, but the punch and the recovery. Hunt leaps in with a left hook that missed by a hair. JDS has completely allowed Hunt to recover by not jumping on Hunt, but then again, who wants to risk running into a leaping left hook my Mark Hunt? Hunt misses with a left hook again. JDS throws that same right hand again, but Hunt got away from it. JDS throws a right which has JDS backpedalling fast. These guys have so much respect for one another's power. JDS is starting to find his rhythm. Spinning back fist and a hook from Hunt. JDS is bleeding. JDS lands the right hand again, and Hunt stayed on his feet. Hunt eats a jab to the body. 10-9 JDS

ROUND TWO: The overhand right that fell Hunt was deflected a little by Hunt's left shoulder. Otherwise, this thing is over. Hunt leaps in with a big right. JSD comes over the top again. hunt's left ear is bloody now. JDS works the jab to the body yet again. Leg kick and left hook from Hunt. Hunt with a leg kick, and eats a straight right. JDS is lsowing down a little, his feet aren't moving like they were in the first. Hunt with an outside leg kick. Shot to the body from Hunt. JDS with a double jab, body head. JDS is really landing the jabs at will. He's changing levels exceptionally well, and he's starting to circle again. Hunt charges in, but JDS circles away, which he's been able to do often. Hunt traps JDS on the cage and hits a couple big shots. Hunt's starting to get his timing down, and as I say that he misses a jab and eats a hook. Huge hook from Hunt, and a follow up right. JDS felt those before circling. JDS gets a takedown, and the crowd immediately rains boos on JDS for that. Half-guard. Short forearms to Hunt's face. JDS not doing much from here. JDS with a couple of jabs. Hunt badly misses a hook in the middle of the cageHunt lands a jab of his own. JDS lands two jabs. Hunt is a statue at this point. A statue with a ton of power, but the speed advantage is bigger now than it was ten minutes ago. Hunt can't close the distance quick enough and misses a right hook by about 2 feet. JDS with an uppercut. Left hook from JDS staggers Hunt. He's a freaking zombie. Both guys swing and miss kill shots. Hunt with a left to the body. Spinning wheel kick by JDS lands flush to the head of Hunt, and Hunt is 100% unconscious. Unreal! JDS jumped out of the Octagon to shake the hand of Mike Tyson.

WINNER: Junior dos Santos by KO at 4:18 of round three

On a semi-related note, the camera briefly caught Mark Hunt getting to his feet and then staggering into the cage. Had it been ropes instead of a fence, he would have fallen through. He was out out out out out out out.

JDS told Rogan it was the first time he'd ever thrown that kick in a fight. Jeez.

FIGHT FIVE: CAN VELASQUEZ VS. ANTONIO SILVA (FOR UFC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)

ROUND ONE: Mario Yamasaki has drawn the main event assignment. He's braver than I. Cain dives for a single, but Bogfoot wriggles free. Cain with an overhand right, well defended by Bigfoot. Silva pushes forward, Cian shoots into it, and Bigfoot stuffs it. He's 2 for 2 in stuffing takedowns, which is vital to his chances. Cain drops Bigfoot with a big right hand and it's all academic from here. Cain grabs a front face lock, and then spins to the side. 11 punches to the head later, and it's over.

WINNER: Cain Velasque by TKO at 1:21 of round one.
