Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones are headed for the big screen via Warner Bros. in a live-action family comedy with “Pitch Perfect” director Jason Moore and “Glee” writer-producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on board.

Warner-based Roy Lee and Dan Lin are producing the coming-of-age comedy based on the long-running Archie Comics characters, launched in the early 1940s in an effort to appeal to fans of the wholesome Andy Hardy movies. Aguirre-Sacasa is writing the script in which Archie faces a “teenage midlife crisis” and must find his purpose in life before graduation.

WME repped the package.

Aguirre-Sacasa’s is writing a “Little Shop of Horrors” remake for Warner Bros. He’s also written the scripts for MGM’s remakes of “Carrie” and “The Town that Dreaded Sundown.”

Sarah Schechter and Andy Fischel are overseeing for Warner Bros.

Lin and Lee are producing “Lego” for Warner Bros. with Chris Miller and Phil Lord directing.

News of the Archie project was first reported on Deadline Hollywood.
