Jon Fitch used the words "hostile work environment" to describe his time in the UFC and felt that he wasn't getting paid what he deserved. UFC president Dana White disagrees with the word choice and did a little research to show how much Fitch made in his eight year run.
"In the time Jon Fitch was with us, we paid him $302,000 in discretionary bonuses," said White to MMA Junkie. "That's money that me and Lorenzo [Fertitta] decided to give him above and beyond the deal that he signed. He also made $130,000 on performance bonuses for his two Fight of the Night bonuses. That's a hostile work environment? Everything that Jon Fitch said is complete and total bulls--t."
About a month after the UFC released the former welterweight No. 1 contender, Fitch signed a deal with the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). He debuts for them against Josh Burkman, who he submitted years ago under the UFC banner.
Fitch had an impressive UFC run that lost some steam towards the end. He had fallen to 1-2-1 since early 2011. At times, Fitch held UFC streaks that reached eight and five wins respectively.
Burkman vs. Fitch headlines WSOF 3 in one week from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The main card airs live on the NBC Sports Network on June 14.
