Anthony Pettis' call to take TJ Grants' lightweight championship shot at UFC 164 left the challenger none too pleased.
When Pettis became the lightweight No. 1 contender he chose to use it as featherweight. Before Pettis could, he suffered a small injury that would remove him from the featherweight title picture. There was enough time to heel for a championship fight with Benson Henderson, but Grant had been promised the contest and it was already made official.

"I wish it was handled a little differently," said Grant to The Telegraph. "I think it was disrespectful to do that against someone who has earned the right to fight. Ultimately, what he was saying was that he wanted my title shot which was incredibly disrespectful. It was pretty dirty."

There is no word on what Pettis will do once fully healthy. He has mentioned the featherweight drop was only temporary.

Henderson-Grant headline UFC 164 on August 31. It comes from the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI.
