PWInsider.com is sad to report the passing of Paul Heyman's father, Richard Heyman. Heyman passed away on 6/25 at the age of 87.
Heyman's passing came to light after his obituary ran in today's edition of The New York Times.

As has been recounted by Paul Heyman many times over the years, Richard Heyman was one of the primary financial backers for the original Extreme Championship Wrestling. The elder Heyman also handled a lot of the legal issues ECW found itself dealing with over the years, with Paul remarking in WWE's ECW documentary that he was lucky his father was a lawyer considering how many lawsuits they had to deal with.

In his obituary, the following was written about Richard Heyman:

"His knowledge, intelligence, street smarts, sense of humor, kindness, ethics, loyalty and sage wisdom enriched all those around him. There are no adjectives posted here, for no description could ever do this man justice. His grandchildren will one day tell their children about "Papu," and they will do so with great pride. Don't mourn this death. He got more out of life than a kid from the Depression could ever dream imaginable."

While the family has asked that his passing not be mourned, we still issue our deepest condolences to the Heyman family.
