-After Goldberg and Rogan open the show, it's on to our first fight of the night in the lightweight division.

PRELIM FIGHT ONE: EDSON BARBOZA VS. RAFAELLO OLIVEIRA (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Barboza landed a hard leg kick early on. Oliveira landed a left hook in close. Barboza went back to the leg kicks with a couple of hard kicks. He unleashed a vicious kick to the body and continued stalking Oliveira back. He landed a hard kick then an uppercut to the body. He continued to target Oliveira's midsection. Barboza landed an uppercut. Oliveira shot in but Barboza just shrugged him off. Barboza again connected to the body. Barboza stuffed another takedown and landed a spinning body kick. They traded short punches. Barboza landed a right, then another hard leg kick. Oliveira shot again and failed on a takedown attempt. Barboza landed some more kicks to the legs and body. Oliveira tried to clinch and Barboza shrugged him aside. Barboza landed a nice counter left, then a straight right. Oliveira was limping on his lead leg. Oliveira went back there. Barboza landed another one. They traded punches. Barboza threw the wheel kick that went over Oliveira's head before the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Barboza. Close to a 10-8 because it was one-sided damage, but Barboza's having his way with him here.

ROUND TWO: Barboza landed a couple kicks early. He caught a kick, then knocked him down. He landed a leg kick. Oliveira got him down briefly but couldn't keep him there. Barboza continued landing to the leg and Oliveira went down. He continued kicking him in the lead leg and Oliveira went down again. He got up, then Barboza landed the leg kick again and he fell again and Herb Dean mercifully stopped the fight.

WINNER: Barboza via TKO (leg kicks) at 1:44 of the second round

STAR RATING: (**+) Brilliant work from Barboza, and absolutely brutal kicks to bring about that finish. Oliveira couldn't stand on that leg after the fight.


PRELIM FIGHT TWO: GABRIEL GONZAGA VS. DAVE HERMAN (HEAVYWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Herman threw a straight kick early. Gonzaga then landed a beautiful counter right that dropped Herman. He landed a few more strikes on the ground and it was all over. Nice finish for Gonzaga, and Herman's almost assuredly going to be cut now.

WINNER: Gonzaga via TKO at :17 of the first round

STAR RATING: (**) Not much to this one at all. Herman landed a few kicks and Gonzaga figured out the timing quickly to land that right.


PRELIM FIGHT THREE: NORMAN PARKE VS. KAZUKI TOKUDOME (LIGHTWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Parke landed a couple of early kicks. Tokudome connected on a couple punches. Parke landed a hard left. He checked a kick and stalked. He got in a hard leg kick and backed off. Parke again got in with a left hook. Tokudome landed a left. Parke shot for a single leg. He then got Tokudome's back standing. Parke tried to pull him down, but Tokudome shifted and turned to get on top. Parke landed some strikes from his back. He tried to roll for a kimura, but couldn't get it. Tokudome landed a few strikes from the top. Parke then reversed in excellent fashion and got in top position. He passed to side control, and landed a couple strikes before the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Parke. Solid round, Parke took it back with the late reversal.

ROUND TWO: After a few exchanges early, Parke rocked Tokudome with a left hook. He continued throwing that punch and landed a few more times, but Tokudome stayed standing. Parke threw a head kick that grazed him. Parke continued landing lefts to the chin, but Tokudome continued to absorb the strikes. Parke scored a takedown. Tokudome got to his feet. He landed a knee, but Parke got him down again and right into mount. Tokudome worked to his feet. Parke landed a couple more overhand lefts before the horn sounded.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Parke. Even better round for Parke. He lit Tokudome up, but just couldn't do enough damage.

ROUND THREE: Both fighters exchanged strikes early. Parke got him clinched on the cage. Tokudome tried to take him down but Parke grabbed the cage and got on top. They got up again. Parke tried to score another takedown, but Tokudome got on top. Parke worked to his feet again. Tokudome landed a kick. He shot in and briefly got Parke down. Parke got in a knee. He landed a left, Tokudome returned a strike. Parke landed a couple more strikes. Parke scored a late takedown, but Tokudome got up. He scored one more at the horn.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Parke. I guess. Fine if it's 10-9 Tokudome as well. Not a good round. Very ugly, sloppy stuff from both guys and not a clear advantage for either.

WINNER: Parke via unanimous decisions (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

STAR RATING: (**) The first two rounds were pretty fun, but that third was quite ugly.


PRELIM FIGHT FOUR: CHRIS LEBEN VS. ANDREW CRAIG (MIDDLEWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Leben rushed Craig to the cage immediately and looked to clinch. Leben landed a couple strikes, then dropped for the takedown, but got stuffed by Craig. Leben landed some knees and a foot stomp, along with a couple body punches. Craig broke free with a big knee. Leben then clinched again and shot for the takedown, this time putting Craig down briefly. After separating, Leben worked forward and landed a few strikes in an exchange. He pressed Craig again. Craig landed a hard right in a brief opening. Leben landed a couple of strikes and they separated again. Craig landed a hard two punch combo as Leben stumbled in and they clinched again. Leben threw a wild overhand and went for the takedown again. He briefly scored the takedown, but Craig again stood. Leben landed a couple hard strikes after Craig tried to get space. He broke free again. Craig shot in but got stuffed as he pressed Leben to the cage. They ended the round in the clinch.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Craig. Not much to that round at all; lots of cage clinching.

ROUND TWO: Leben again moved forward early on, but Craig again held him off in the clinch on the cage. Craig landed some more strikes with his back on the cage, then got loose with a nice knee to the head. Leben again tried for a takedown but got stuffed. Craig again got out of the clinch with a knee. Craig landed a nice elbow. Leben landed a nice right. Craig landed a hard leg kick a bit later. Craig clinched and pressed Leben to the cage. They traded shots, then Leben turned him around. Leben landed a left. Leben landed some body shots as Craig clinched him again, and Craig landed a knee. Craig landed a couple strikes as the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Craig. Leben just didn't have much offense at all in that round.

ROUND THREE: Craig hurt Leben early and knocked him down. He took a bunch of strikes on the ground but the fight was somehow not stopped and he got to his feet. Craig cracked him with a knee, then another combination, before pressing him to the cage. Craig shove him down to the ground and dropped with a right into Leben's guard. Leben tried to get his leg up but Craig got out and briefly passed. Craig stood and let him back up. Leben pressed in and clinched again, but Craig got out. Craig backed up and shot in, scoring the takedown. Leben landed some strikes from his back. Craig tried to transition to an arm triangle, but Leben worked to his feet. Craig shot in again and scored the takedown once more. He landed some strikes and ended the fight on top.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Craig. Better offensive round for Craig, but still not a good one. Bad fight, and it shouldn't have continued when Leben got knocked down in the first place.

WINNER: Craig via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27)

STAR RATING: (*+) Ugly fight. Bad action in the first two rounds with a lot of cage stalling, and the third round showed just how far Leben's fallen. I don't know how that was a split, but Leben doesn't need to continue fighting.

-After Rogan and Goldberg open the broadcast before throwing to the opening fight.

PPV FIGHT ONE: CUB SWANSON VS. DENNIS SIVER (FEATHERWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: They traded kicks early on. Swanson threw a spinning kick that grazed Siver, but Siver took the opportunity to take him down. He passed to side control. Swanson was trying to get himself out from the bottom, but Siver kept his position. Swanson tried to get to his feet, but Siver was able to keep him on the ground. Swanson tried to grab for a front choke and used it to get to his feet. Siver landed a kick. Swanson got one back, but Siver landed a couple of strikes to end the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Siver. He controlled position on the ground and held control for the majority of the round.

ROUND TWO: They traded kicks and punches again early on. Siver got in a nice combination. He shot for a single but got shrugged off. They exchanged strikes again in the center. Siver got in a couple of leg kicks. Siver landed a decent kick. Swanson got in a nice combination. Swanson looked for he big overhand right. Swanson landed a hard uppercut and Siver clinched. Swanson then pulled off a beautiful sweep and moved to mount. He kept position as Siver tried to buck him off. Siver scrambled out and had Swanson's back to end the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Swanson. Good round there, and Swanson took the round with that late uppercut and takedown.

ROUND THREE: Swanson landed a nice combination early. Siver came back at him. Swanson landed a nice combination. Swanson went high with a kick that was blocked. Siver went for a spinning kick but was in the wrong position. Swanson got in a nice right. Swanson connected on a great three punch combo. He landed another hard right. He dropped Siver with another nice combo. He started raining down strikes and he finally stopped himself as Siver was out and Herb Dean hadn't yet stepped in. Terrible job by Dean, but huge win for Swanson.

WINNER: Swanson via TKO at 2:24 of the third round

STAR RATING: (***) That was a great fight right there. Swanson and Siver had their moments respectively in the first two rounds, then Swanson took it to another level in the third. That was still a terrible stoppage by Dean, but huge win for Swanson regardless.


PPV FIGHT TWO: MARK MUNOZ VS. TIM BOETSCH (MIDDLEWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Boetsch immediately scored a takedown, but Munoz rolled through it and got to his feet. Boetsch then picked him up and slammed him. Munoz again worked to his feet after taking a few strikes. Boetsch stayed on him on the cage, but Munoz got free and separated. Boetsch rushed in and landed a few strikes before grabbing the clinch. He landed a knee to the body. Munoz then scored a takedown of his own, but Boetsch immediately worked his way back up. He landed a right with his back on the cage. Boetsch rolled through a takedown attempt and sprawled. Munoz had a double leg and scored a takedown. Boetsch had a guillotine attempt and used it to sweep to the top. They scrambled and stood again. Munoz landed a few strikes on the cage and Boetsch connected on an overhand right. Munoz landed a few nice strikes in the clinch. He got in a knee to the body. Munoz got in a few knees to the body and a couple nice strikes as he backed off. He came in and ate a kick as he tried for a single leg at the end of the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Munoz. Really good round, but Munoz did the most damage during that frame.

ROUND TWO: Boetsch came straight in and landed a hard kick to the body. Munoz tried to rush in with a flying knee but Boetsch landed a nice right to hold him off. Munoz clinched and landed several knees against the cage. Boetsch got free and walked forward. Boetsch landed a nice right. He landed a good left and clinched. Then Munoz powered him down with a takedown on the cage. Boetsch turtled and tried to control a wrist. Munoz dropped down some vicious body shots as Boetsch worked his way up. Munoz powered to another takedown. He landed a hard right. Munoz got Boetsch to his knees and landed several more body strikes. He continued the body assault, then landed some strikes to the side of the head. Munoz landed some knees to the body, and ended the round with strikes against the cage.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Munoz. Another strong round for Munoz, and he's looking much better than expected after a year out.

ROUND THREE: Munoz landed a right hand early. Boetsch landed a nice right. He went for a guillotine and rolled through, nearly getting mount. He continued trying to go for a choke, then tried to attack an arm, but Munoz snuck out and took his back as he was turtled up. He hit him with a bunch of hammer fists, then went for the body. Munoz tried to pass to mount, then almost took Boetsch's back. Boetsch grabbed for a leg, but Munoz continued landing strikes from the top. Munoz then went for a kimura, but lost the hold. He went back to body strikes. He then tried to go for a rear naked choke, but Boetsch got out. Munoz landed more strikes on the ground. He hurt him again, and nearly had him flattened out. Boetsch rolled for a knee bar late, but Munoz got out and dove in for some strikes at the end. He ended the round on top.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Munoz. Huge performance from Mark Munoz. He just dominated Tim Boetsch in that second and third round.

WINNER: Munoz via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 29-28)

STAR RATING: (***) That was a great fight, and the most aggressive and impressive version of Munoz we've yet seen. Really good fight.

PPV FIGHT THREE: TIM KENNEDY VS. ROGER GRACIE (MIDDLEWEIGHT)

ROUNE ONE: Gracie landed a couple nice jabs from the center. He shot in and took Kennedy down. He tried to stand, but Gracie took his back. Kennedy tried to get loose and he got himself turned around. He then grabbed a body lock. He got separated and they took to the center again. Kennedy landed a leg kick. Gracie caught a kick. Gracie grabbed a Thai clinch and landed a couple knees. He dropped and scored a double leg takedown. Gracie then got both hooks in as he got Kennedy's back. Kennedy continued to defend. Kennedy tried to throw strikes behind him with Gracie on his back, then turned around and got on top to end the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Gracie. Kennedy ended on top, and Gracie didn't do a ton with his position, but he controlled where the fight took place in that round.

ROUND TWO: Kennedy landed some leg kicks early in the round. Gracie landed a jab, then they clinched. Kennedy scored a takedown and Gracie turtled. He landed a couple of big strikes and Gracie scrambled. Gracie landed a nice upkick. Kennedy took Gracie's back and landed some big strikes, but Gracie scrambled and got to his feet. Kennedy landed a decent elbow to the face. Kennedy scored another takedown. Gracie got to full guard. They were stood up with a minute left. Gracie struggled to get to his feet. Kennedy landed a left hook. Gracie landed a strike. Kennedy clinched again. The round ended in the clinch.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Kennedy. Strong round for Kennedy. Gracie is fading fast, and Kennedy dominated that round.

ROUND THREE: Kennedy came forward early and landed several leg kicks and some strikes in as well. They clinched and Kennedy got Gracie's back briefly, but Gracie got separation. Kennedy got in a body kick. Gracie shot in for a desperation takedown and Kennedy landed some strikes. Gracie got him down briefly, but Kennedy got to his feet. Kennedy turned him around on the cage. Kennedy stayed busy in the clinch. They were separated after a Kennedy elbow. Kennedy landed a right. Kennedy got in a short combination. Kennedy got in with a left. Kennedy clinched him again and pressed him to the cage. He landed a few more strikes in the clinch and rode out the round with a combo.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Kennedy. Gracie faded entirely, and just didn't have anything to offer down the stretch. Not a great fight.

WINNER: Kennedy via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

STAR RATING: (*+) Not much to that fight. Decent enough opening round, and some nice damage from Kennedy in the second, but this was mostly about Gracie entirely fading and costing himself the fight.

PPV FIGHT FOUR: FRANKIE EDGAR VS. CHARLES OLIVEIRA (FEATHERWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Edgar hurt Oliveira with a nice strike early, then followed him to the ground, but Oliveira attacked for a leg. Edgar got out and got to his feet. Oliveira clinched and then pulled guard. Edgar tried to work in his guard as Oliveira threw some short strikes from the bottom. Oliveira tried to explode for a limb but Edgar got out of danger. Edgar landed a hard left hook but ate a knee. Oliveira landed a left but Edgar cracked him with one of his own. Edgar again landed a combination. He got in a punch to the body. Oliveira landed a knee to the body. Oliveira landed a combination as Edgar tried to side step. Edgar landed a nice strike and tripped Oliveira down. Edgar landed a hard left hook. He got in a nice uppercut from the clinch. He tripped Oliveira, then landed a couple of kicks to the legs before Oliveira stood. Oliveira landed a body punch and ate a counter. Edgar connected on a nice combo. He landed a strike, then got another takedown. He ended the round on top.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Edgar. Oliveira is staying aggressive as expected, but he's left open for strikes and Edgar took advantage.

ROUND TWO: Oliveira came in early. Edgar countered. Edgar countered a kick and landed a nice right. Oliveira landed a hard leg kick. Oliveira landed a hard leg kick, but Edgar caught it and dropped him with a right. Oliveira landed another kick. Edgar took him down again. Edgar landed some hard strikes from the top. Oliveira tried to work from his back, but Edgar stayed busy. Oliveira worked to his feet but ate a bunch of strikes. Edgar landed a nice two punch combo. Edgar landed a great left hook. Edgar landed a nice left again. Edgar caught another kick and landed a nice right. Edgar connected on another nice combo to the body and the head. Oliveira walked him down and they traded strikes. Edgar picked him up and scored a takedown but Oliveira went for a guillotine. The round ended, though.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Edgar. Strong round again, though he almost got in real trouble at the end. Oliveira's game here, he's just not getting enough done in this one.

ROUND THREE: Edgar tagged Oliveira early and hit him with a nice combination. He caught a kick and knocked Oliveira down with a right. He let him stand. Oliveira landed a nice combination but Edgar recovered quickly. Edgar caught a kick and threw a hard kick. Oliveira landed a nice knee to the body. Edgar got in a nice trip, but wasn't on top of him and they both stood. Edgar landed a nice left, then a right. Oliveira countered with a big strike. Oliveira tripped Edgar up, then landed a nice left. Edgar landed a nice strike, but Oliveira countered. Edgar then landed a big right. He connected on another. Edgar jumped in with a knee. He landed the right again, but Oliveira stayed on his feet. Edgar stuffed a shot and got into Oliveira's guard and landed some hammer fists and strikes from the top. Edgar continued to stay busy from the top. He stood and dropped in with a big right hand. Oliveira kept him in guard, but Edgar rode out the round on top.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Edgar. Another mostly strong round, but give credit to Oliveira for sticking with him and gutting it out through some spots there. Big fight for Edgar.

WINNER: Edgar via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27)

STAR RATING: (***+) Really, really good fight. Edgar was beating up Oliveira through most of it, but to his credit "Do Bronx" was a very game opponent. But it was a much needed win for Edgar, and a good performance overall.

PPV MAIN EVENT FIGHT FIVE: ANDERSON SILVA VS. CHRIS WEIDMAN (UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)

ROUND ONE: Weidman took the center and tried to walk Silva down. Silva shimmied a bit and Silva shot in. Weidman shot in and Silva sprawled. However, Weidman got him flipped over and got on top. He landed a couple of hard strikes from the top. He moved to half guard and landed some more strikes. The crowd chanted "USA." Weidman looked to pass, but Silva forced him to stand. Silva threw an upkick. Weidman landed some strikes from the top. Silva tried to wrap his led and Weidman went for a knee bar, then a heel hook. Silva got out and to his feet with two minutes left. Silva dropped his hands and let Weidman walk him down. Silva backed up to the cage, but Weidman didn't engage. He then walked back and let Weidman punch him. Silva put his hands at his sides. He threw a knee to Weidman's face. Weidman landed a right and Silva let him hit him in thecae. Silva then threw a few kicks. He let Weidman hit him a few more times. Silva just messed with him some more. He landed a couple more leg kicks. He went high with a kick and continued trying to goad Weidman. He engaged and Weidman backed off.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Weidman. Silva isn't worried about anything Weidman is presenting here, and Weidman's not really giving him a reason to even though he won that round. Weidman needs to put this fight on the ground and keep it there, though, because he's not going to do anything on the feet here.

ROUND TWO: Silva continued showboating as Weidman stood in the center. Weidman missed a few strikes. He shot in and Silva stuffed him, then asked him to come at him. Silva landed an inside leg kick. Weidman missed a head kick. He landed a couple strikes. Silva tried to matrix away from the strikes and Weidman knocked him down!! He landed a few more strikes on the ground and Silva is out! WOW!

WINNER: Weidman via KO at 1:18 of the second round

STAR RATING: (*****) That's a game changer. I didn't think it would happen, and when Silva was playing his game and completely disrespecting Weidman it looked like he'd do what he's always done. But this time it didn't happen, and his dropped hands killed him tonight. All credit to Chris Weidman, that was fantastic.

Weidman did it!!! What a knockout...respect is something one should expect especially from THE champ - tonight it bit Silva back!
