DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Fans who made the trek to Cleveland Thursday night to see the Tigers weren’t just treated to a staggering win.

They were also treated to a new version of the melodic “Let’s go Tigers” riff.

And it goes like this: “Dee-troit’s ban-krupt … Dee-troit’s ban-krupt.”

That’s right, Cleveland fans responded to a Tigers’ fan chorus of “Let’s go Tigers,” by mocking the city’s recent bankruptcy filing.

Miguel Cabrera blasted one 429 feet and the Tigers won their 11th straight. Were they still laughing in Cleveland?

Cleveland and Detroit have a long-running community rivalry, notably highlighted by a “hastily made” Cleveland tourism video on You Tube where the actors sign off by triumphantly singing “we’re not Detroit!” They apparently shout it from the rooftops of both of their buildings.

Tigers fan Sean Mohan, of Warren, was at the game and though he didn’t hear the chant, he thinks Detroit fans weren’t blameless.

“We were doing a lot of trash talking,” he said.
