Man Accused Of Masturbating In Front Of Deli Employee And Her Young Son

Ronald Savoy, 42, of Lakewood is accused of taking off his clothes and masturbating in front of an Ocean Avenue deli employee and her 8-year-old son, said Detective Sgt. Greg Staffordsmith, spokesman for Lakewood police.
An employee at La Palma Deli and Grocery called police at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and reported an unknown man had entered the store and waited for other customers to leave before taking off his clothes and masturbating, Staffordsmith said. Once he realized she was calling the police, he put his clothes back on and left.
Shortly therafter, Officers Michael Young and Junior Vega found their suspect, identified as Savoy, at a nearby bus terminal and arrested him.
Further investigation found that Savoy had done the same thing the evening before, until a female employee yelled at him to leave, Staffordsmith said.
Savoy was charged with two counts of lewdness, tender years sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. On Monday he remained at the Ocean County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
