Last Sunday night, Ring of Honor held its first live pay per view with Best in the World from Nashville, Tennessee. On that night, Michael Elgin was able to become the nineteenth man to be able to be called the Ring of Honor World Champion. It has been a long road for Michael Elgin to achieve that honor. This week, Ring of Honor Television looks at the travels of Michael Elgin to the top of the mountain at Best in the World.

Larry Mercer is in the backstage area and he talks about Best in the World. He talks about the new Ring of Honor Champion and this episode is a look at the new champion.

We have a video feature of Michael Elgin and some of his more impressive moves as his entrance music plays.

Michael says that all he could remember is being a wrestling fan. In 1989, when he was 3 or 4 years old, wrestling came to his home town. There was a steel cage match with Dusty Rhodes and Big Bossman. Michael says that wrestling was the reason why he was able to deal with people who picked on him.

He became friends with someone new to his school because he was wearing a wrestling t-shirt. He started to backyard wrestle with him. Then he started with Squared Circle Training. He hit it off with Ashley Sixx and Tyson Dux.

Tyson Dux says that there were a bunch of kids there and Michael was the only person who impressed him.

Michael says that Tyson was a trainer, mentor, and friend because Tyson saw something in him. Tyson says that it is amazing to see how far he has come, but it is not surprising.

We go to Raising the Bar Night Two on March 8, 2014, when Michael Elgin wrestled Tyson Dux.

They lock up and Elgin backs Dux into the corner but they continue to go around the ring and Dux. Dux with a side head lock and he tries for a shoulder tackle, but Elgin stays on his feet.
