A big heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night 50 as Alistair Overeem faces Ben Rothwell. Overeem has won two of four fights during his UFC tenure, but he last defeated Frank Mir by decision at UFC 169. Rothwell was initially slated to face Ruslan Magomedov at UFC 177, but an obvious upgrade in opponent moved him to this event instead. UFC Fight Night 50 takes place on September 5th from the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut with Gegard Mousasi and Ronaldo Souza headlining.

Mitrione was originally set to face Stefan Struve at UFC 175, but the bout was cancelled after Struve passed out backstage.
