News] Yoji Anjo announced that he will be making his official retirement next year on March 19, 2015 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Anjo competed primarily under UWF International and is known for his entrance theme of “James Brown is Dead” by L.A. Style, in which his show will be playing homage to that as it is being called “Y.A. is Dead”.
Yanji Anjo (middle of pic) was joined by Kenichi Yamamoto (to Anjo’s left), Yoshihiro Tayama (to Anjo’s right), and Ryuki Ueyama (to Takayama’s right). Anjo did though mention to possible main event for the show as he looks to reform the “Golden Cups” with Yoshihiro Takayama and Kenichi Yamamoto. As for possible opponents, Anjo did mention Riki Choshu, Masakatsu Funaki, and Minoru Suzuki as those he has had plenty of history with in the past.

Anjo debuted in UWF back in July of 1985 and also competed in NJPW during the NJPW vs. UFWi era. This will mark his 30th year of competing. Anjo was more prominent during HUSTLE back in 2004 and following, but after the fall of HUSTLE Anjo had them become semi-retired.

The show in March is scheduled to have around 7-10 matches with Nobuhiko Takada and other special guests in talks of being in attendance.
