If you guys haven't heard 4-Time NASCAR Cup Series Champion(4th all-time) Jeff Gordon is retiring after the 2015 season. Jeff said it is just time. He will not be retired full just no longer racing full time.

Jeff Gordon has racing in the Cup Series for 23 years now and has recorded 92 wins (3rd all-time). Gordon has won the Daytona 500 3 times and the Brickyard 400 a record setting 5 times.

Gordon paved the way for new NASCAR drivers to come that are not from the southeast of the country. Gordon, who was born and started racing in California before moving to Indianan at the age of 14 also changed the way you start out in racing.

Before Gordon driver would just start racing at any age and move up from there. Jeff Gordon started racing when he was 5 years old and no all the top stars you see if racing start that young. The saying in the racing world is that if you don't start before you are 16 then your already to old to start.

Jeff Gordon also helped the sport of NASCAR become more main stream bringing in more fans from across the country. Gordon is the only NASCAR driver to host Saturday Night Live and he has co-hosted the ABC morning talk show Live! multiple times with Kelly Rippa.

Hate or love Jeff Gordon you have to admit that he changed the sport and changed it for the better. You have to respect everything he has done for this sport and for what he will continue to do even after he is no longer in the race car every weekend.

Gordon has already said that his 7 year old daughter Ella could start racing this year and he also has a 5 year old son so it may not be to many years to we start watching the next generation of Gordons racing.

Wow one of the greatest modern era driver's will retire after this year, now I know I am getting old. The battles between Jeff and the Intimadator were classic.
