Light heavyweights will collide when Ovince St. Preux and Patrick Cummins meet on April 18 at UFC on FOX 15. The UFC announced the bout Wednesday.

Both St. Preux, No. 8, and Cummins, No. 15, are ranked within lower-half of the UFC's media-generated light heavyweight rankings.

Having demolished Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in just 34 seconds this past November, St. Preux (17-6) rides into the contest with a newfound wave of momentum at his back. A product of the Strikeforce days, St. Preux stopped the former UFC champion with a salvo of early punches to push his UFC record to an impressive 5-1 mark, buoyed by additional first-round finishes over Nikita Krylov and Cody Donovan.

St. Preux's only loss inside the Octagon, however, came in contest that saw him get outworked and outwrestled by two-time All-American Ryan Bader. And in that regard, he'll get no remorse from Cummins.

A decorated collegiate wrestler and former RPW heavyweight champion, Cummins (7-1) has proven himself to be a worthy prospect in the 205-pound division, racking up three dominating wins to rebound from his anticlimactic UFC debut against Daniel Cormier.

UFC on FOX 15 takes place April 18, 2015 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, and airs live on FOX Sports 1. An updated fight card can be seen below.
