The current IWGP IC Champion Hirooki Goto will be debuting a new costume thanks in-part to the game design team behind the upcoming Sengoku Basara 4 video game. His new costume is based around the concept of "god of thunder".
Goto stated that he is anticipating his matches against Okada (8/1 @ Osaka) and Elgin (8/12 @ Korakuen). He aims to capture the G1 victory this year, which will be the first time to do so in 7 years (2008), as he aims to move on to defend the IWGP IC overseas and also for a potential unification match with the IWGP Heavyweight belt.

Guess we will tie this into a discussion here... A unification match between the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental belt, a good thing or a bad thing? Does NJPW have too many singles belts at this time?
