The N.F.L. said Tuesday that it would hold its annual college draft in Chicago for a second consecutive year.
The draft was moved out of New York in 2015 for the first time since the 1960s partly because the league has been trying to popularize the event. Moving it to Chicago allowed tens of thousands of fans from the Midwest, who might not have visited New York, to attend festivities held near the site of the draft.
The league said that it would develop a process to select locations of future drafts, which could include a return to Chicago. The 2016 draft will be held April 28-30.
