Orange County police hosted a news conference about the shooting that took place this afternoon outside of the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL.

Here is everything we know so far:

* Local news are saying the man in question, who was banned from appearing on WWE property, was confronted by OCPD and shot after the situation turned violent. We are still awaiting the beginning of the news conference for more information.

* WWE employees were being questioned after the incident.

* Police responded to an incident at a "semi-professional NXT wrestling organization" at 1:30PM ET.

* The man was apparently obsessed with one of the female talents working at the Performance Center. He had recently been arrested and banned from appearing on WWE property.

* Two OCPD deputies responded to the scene and had been told he had a knife. The man began to charge the officers, who retreated "75 to 100 feet backwards" before firing a shot to take down the attacker.

* The man was rushed to the hospital with "a life threatening injury" and is currently in surgery.

* The man has an arrest record, with history of robbery and battery against an officer in the past.

* The officers were in street clothes, with OCPD vests, and gave the subject instructions and multiple warnings, and attempted to retreat from him before opening fire. Only one round was fired. It was not clear whether or not he had a weapon, but the officers had been told he possessed a knife when being called to the scene.

* Corporal Steve Wahl and Deputy Dave Richardson were the two officers at the scene. Wahl fired the shot. At this time OCPD cannot release the name of the man in question.

* There is no indication that the man was a wrestler, or had any relationship with any of the wrestlers at the WWE Performance Center.

* When asked why the officer did not use his taser to take down the attacker, the officer noted that the incident happened very quickly, there was the possibility of a weapon being involved, and officer Wahl made the decision he thought was necessary at the time.

-Why Police Were Called To The WWE Performance Center Earlier Today, What Led To Shooting

As noted, a man was shot by an Orange County deputy at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando this afternoon.

According to MyNews13.com, sheriffs say deputies responded to the Performance Center for a trespassing call. It was noted earlier that this person was previously arrested at the location and Triple H noted that the man was not supposed to be there.

Sheriffs said and there was some sort of altercation and the deputy felt he needed to draw his weapon and fire at the man. We're still waiting on the man's identity and his condition as an ambulance took him to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. Mike is currently waiting on live updates from a press conference and we'll have more information then.

Here are Triple H's comments on the matter:

"Unfortunately a deranged individual with no WWE affiliation, who had a court order prohibiting him from being on WWE property was involved in an incident with an Orange County Sherriff's deputy in the parking lot of the WWE Performance Center. We defer to the Orange County Sherriff's department for further comment and information."

-WWE Had Been Working With Police On Performance Center Security, More On Today's Shooting

As noted, police revealed more details on today's WWE Performance Center shooting in a press conference that just wrapped up. Police still have not released the identity of the man who they shot but as noted, he was obsessed with one of WWE's female talents that trains at the Performance Center and after being previously arrested there for an incident, he returned today and was acting deranged. Police were called and it was noted that the man had a knife. After repeated warnings from officers to drop the knife, he did not and moved at them, leading to one officer firing at least one shot and taking the man down. At last word he was in surgery at a local hospital.

Police noted that the female talent he was obsessed with was not at the Performance Center today. Police also talked about how WWE has increased security with local police when they have well-known WWE names there visiting. One of the Performance Center managers apparently called one of the officers they have been coordinating extra security with, which is why they showed up for today's incident. There was also a 911 call made. It was also noted that they believe the man was not involved with WWE and is not a wrestler.

It was also said that the sheriff viewed footage from the Performance Center and he believed the officer tried to keep his distance from the man but the man closed in on him, forcing the officer to fire as he feared for his safety.

One reporter asked the sheriff if he thought WWE had done what they could to keep talents safe and prevent incidents like these. The sheriff said they have, noting earlier that WWE Performance Center managers keep in touch with local police for security reasons, and said you can't predict what will happen when dealing with individuals such as the man who was shot today.

-More Bizarre Details On The Man Police Shot At The WWE Performance Center Today

TMZ has confirmed that the man shot by police at the WWE Performance Center today is Armando Alejandro Montalvo.

As noted, the man, who was obsessed with a female WWE talent, was also arrested at the Performance Center on August 4th after an incident. TMZ notes that the man had a string of violent run-ins at the WWE facility and was accused of spreading his feces and urine on the building earlier this summer. He also posted video of himself mixing his waste with reduced fat milk.

TMZ also says the man allegedly showed up at the Performance Center multiple times, wearing a wrestling outfit. One time he was banging on the windows and threatening to kick everyone's ass because WWE wouldn't hire him. On one occasion, the man was swinging a large chain and police had to subdue him at gunpoint.
