Yet another big holiday 2015 game has "gone gold." The latest title to achieve that status is the Need for Speed reboot from Electronic Arts and developer Ghost Games.

Going gold means a project has completed initial development. It doesn't mean Ghost Games is packing up and moving on to the next thing, as the studio has extensive plans for DLC. As announced previously, Ghost Games has no plans for paid DLC or microtransactions. Instead, fans can look forward to "free content updates" throughout the game's lifespan.

Ghost Games is calling its new Need for Speed a "full reboot." It is due out on November 3 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the PC edition is coming in 2016. It's the first game in the series in two years; EA skipped a release in 2014, marking the first time it had done so in more than a decade.
