With WWE Fastlane in the rear view mirror, we’re now full speed ahead on the road to WrestleMania. Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar in the main event to earn his WrestleMania title shot against Triple H – but it turns out there was a late change to the booking of last night’s main event.

As we had been reporting in recent weeks, the original plan for the WWE Fastlane main event called for The Wyatt Family interfering, costing Lesnar the match and setting up Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. That scenario was scrapped over the weekend because WWE decided to go in a different direction with Lesnar’s WrestleMania opponent.

Brock Lesnar is now scheduled to face Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32, as first reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Live.

In the buildup to Fastlane, we’ve seen Dean Ambrose being protected and looking strong as he stood up to Lesnar in the face of The Beast’s unique brand of violence. WWE fans might not be thrilled about the predictable Reigns vs. Triple H main event, but Lesnar vs Ambrose has the potential to deliver in a big way.

This is not surprising at all. WWE used to be able to pull of some impressive swerves that left the audience in awe, but lately they are becoming more and more predictable. Everybody can see right through what is going to happen, with Dean Ambrose being built up to face Lesnar and both of them losing obviously leading to a 'Mania match. Roman Reigns of course is being shoved down our collective throats because Vinnie Mac hand-picked him to be Cena 2.0. Reigns is not the type to be the face of the company, but rather the silent ass-kicker and Vinnie Mac just cannot see that. John Cena can talk and he has the charisma to back that up. Reigns cannot be the babyface and pull of what John Cena does every night. Hell, bring back the cocky heel he used to portray and we might see that work better than Cena 2.0.
