Now that Shinsuke Nakamura is officially signed to WWE, more details are coming in regarding him joining the company and what’s ahead for the Japanese wrestling phenom.
Nakamura will be wrestling his first match for WWE against Sami Zayn at NXT Takeover: Dallas on Friday, April 1st. The belief is that Nakamura will be spending significant time in NXT, which is interesting because he’ll be earning “main roster” money.
His signing with WWE and the press conference WWE held in Japan on Monday was treated like a major sports story in Japan. The media event at Tokyo’s Hard Rock Cafe had more than 100 reporters, photographers and videographers in attendance.
It has been widely reported in the Japanese media that Nakamura’s WWE contract is for 3 years, so it will be interesting to see how much time he spends in NXT before he makes it to the main roster.
