Akebono held a press conference in Tokyo to formally announce that the first ever Oudou show will be held on April 20 at the Korakuen Hall.
The main event for the show was also announced as Akebono will be teaming with Taiyo Kea and Ryota Hama as they take on the power and impact combination of Masato Tanaka, Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuji Okabayashi. He also stated that Kea will be under the Oudou banner as well. Though he also made it known that the door's are open to any promotion and or any freelance wrestlers to come and compete in the promotion if they so desire.
Akebono announced that he plans to hold a show once every 2 months, as of right now, and also made mention of holding smaller community based shows as well. With an ultimate goal of course being a show at the Nippon Budokan or Ryogoku Kokugikan, but that of course is up to the fan reception from this first show and subsequently. He also stated that he is doing this promotion in complete honor of Giant Baba's teachings as he feels that fans want an easy to follow promotion that is pure wrestling based.
