It was announced today that several wrestlers will be going freelance at the end of this month. Among the veteran side of things AKIRA, TAJIRI, and Minoru Tanaka will be resigning and then as well Ryota Hama and Yasufumi Nakanoue will be choosing to not renew their contract come the end of the month.

AKIRA, Minoru, and Nakanoue will be competing on the July 1 show as freelance, and W-1 appears to be leaving the door open for them to continue competing in the future.

Nakanoue, who is still the youngest of this group, has been working in BJW this year as well, but there is no indication as of yet on where he will be active. Hama has been working BJW as well, but knowing his connection to Akebono I would not be shocked if he joins Oudou. AKIRA originally came in with the WNC crew in 2014 and works on a few side projects since being in W-1, namely Makai Syojyoken (Theater based wrestling, which AKIRA has dabbled in acting in the past). The doors are completely open for Minoru Tanaka, as he has worked several promotions outside of W-1 throughout the years. TAJIRI has recently been in contact with the WWE, competing in the CWC tournament this Summer, and could potentially get a trainers position, especially given he has a medical therapy license as well.
