New UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez had an interesting response to recent call-outs by contenders Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson on Twitter Thursday.
Alvarez, who claimed the title last week with a first round finish vs. Rafael dos Anjos, used an “Auto Response” to write, “Out of the office right now sipping pina colada’s I get back to you at “My” earliest convenience.”
Nurmagomedov and Ferguson were once scheduled to meet in a title-eliminator, but an injury sidelined Ferguson. He returns Wednesday at UFC Fight Night 91 and finished Lando Vannata, immediately calling for a title fight vs. Alvarez next.
