If Brock Lesnar’s flagged test does come back positive for performance-enhancing drugs, he could be hit with a fine from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for $1.25 million to $1.875 million. NSAC guidelines say that athletes may be fined 50 to 75 percent of their purse if they fail a drug test for anabolic steroids.

It was reported that Lesnar made $2.5 million for his fight against Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 9. Fines could be lower if the NSAC believes Lesnar accidently took a tainted supplement.

Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that the NSAC may also go after Lesnar’s PPV bonus money he receives from UFC. Meltzer estimated Lesnar’s total payment for UFC 200 at $6 million.

A NSAC hearing for Lesnar’s possible USADA violation is expected to be within the next couple weeks, based on the fact that Jon Jones already has a similar hearing scheduled for this July 18, after it was revealed on July 7 that Jones possibly violated USADA policy as well.

Other than fines, Lesnar could also be suspended from MMA for two years if he’s tests positive for PEDs. It is possible he could receive a shorter suspension if the commission believes the violation was accidental.
