The first-ever WWE Universal Champion will be crowned at SummerSlam on 8/21. The title was announced tonight by Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley as WWE Champion Dean Ambrose is now on SmackDown.

Fatal 4 Way matches will take place tonight with Sami Zayn, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Cesaro, Roman Reigns, WWE United States Champion Rusev, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor. The end result will see a winner determined to face #1 draft pick Seth Rollins at SummerSlam to crown the first Universal Champion.

I was thinking the same thing too when I heard it. I still believe that they should have one title and the holder should float between shows to defend it. Having two Champs waters down the whole brand.
